This wasn't bad, a little expensive. I really expected more out of it, but it wasn't too bad. The steak was small, and wasn't... great for the price. Honestly, little trouble was better for steak. The lamb was delicious though. The old fashioned I orderedwas slapped together, I really wish a bar tender would put a little more effort into their drinks, especially if the restaurantisn't that busy. It would just make the experience better, and the price more worth it. Read more

Drove 3 hours to eat here. The menu gives you the impression of refined palatable experience. However, lacks in execution. The... corn chowder was exception, the best I ever had. Fresh Canadian oysters were excellent. Cocktails were very tasty. Good wineselection. However the sever was not well versed in the menu. I ordered the duck, usually I expect the fat to be crisped and theduck should explode in your mouth, but it had a texture of raw steak drowned in a pool of sauces that didn?t really elevate theduck at all. Not very good for a special. Had rack of lamb and quail with scalloped potatoes. Very good dish, just plated askind of a mess. The lamb was just thrown on the plate and were very small. However, cooked correctly. Four stars but not a fivestar experience. The kitchen needs to reign it in. If you live in Austin worth a visit. But not worth a drive from Fort Worth Read more

Service was outstanding, very attentive and polite. We had duck and boneless ribs wich was more like a roast with mashed... potatoes. Also tried the Irish coffee. Everything was delicious. A little pricey but it's nice to have a place like this here inLockhart. Read more

Greeted by a friendly server and given a choice of bar or table seating. A glass of unfiltered water was served without a... straw. After viewing the menu I narrowed my choices to Grilled Tuna or Atlantic Salmon (both are over priced for theatmosphere). My server gave me the hurried experience one recieves when showing up an hour before closing, but did know the menuand although obviously canned rehearsed responses were given I decidedbon Grilled Atlantic Salmon served with the mystery dailyvegetable and house made preserve (uh-oh) bracing for the worst I began the time in limbo always experienced when waiting for mymeal to arrive so I began sipping on stale cloudy Tea (for $2.50 one would think filtered water would be used) apparently theyeither do bot carry sweet and low or are out...fragrances of Lemon and Salmon are wafting into to the Dining area frim thegrill and are pleasantly welcomed by my olfactory sense! The anticipation may outweigh the quality and satisfaction, as I haveseen some other meals presented. I have decided on Dr. Loosen "L" Reisling from Mosel Germany and if my server ever returns....My entre finally arrives way overcooked embroiling both the fine flavor of burned, forgotten filets, that should have beentossed in the trash. I always wonder how an entree can be tough, lukewarm dry and burned! I still have not received my winewhich is much needed to wash this funk down. Just save your money and stick to the booze here. Staying in Lockhart while I'm racing my sports car up in Austin. I like staying down here because it is quiet and there's no... traffic getting back and forth to the track. Looking for a place to eat that's not your normal barbecue brisket excetera and Iran into this gem. And that's exactly what it is a gem. I hooked up with Greg at the bar super friendly guy very knowledgeableabout his industry old school bartender. Also shook hands with the chef who's the owner. He put together a spectacular upper endmenu that I'll post here. I was very impressed with the atmosphere, the service and the food was perfect in every way. I highlyrecommend the veal and the red fish and any appetizer. With so many wonderful dishes this restaurant has sealed my decision tostay in Lockhart when I'm racing at the Circuit of Americas. This place is worth a visit!!! Read more
