10/10. Exactly what I hope for when I think of Texas BBQ. To start, you?re getting smoked out at the door. High quality tender... cuts of meat. The burnt ends are Flavortown. The sides hold their own, potato salad is mustard based which I loved (not overlycreamy). Presentation means nothing when the flavor is ????. The meat here slaps. And the customer service was wonderful, greatexperience. Read more

I have always loved this location in Llano. From walking to the pit, picking your meat and choosing to get it sauced or not, to... waking inside and picking your sides. They have all the standards and more. Pork chops and sirloin. The meat is all great. Myfavorite is the beef rib. The sides are also equally great. Jalapeno mac and cheese is my choice. Don't miss the cobbler. If youare wondering why there are no beans, it's because the beans are always free and help yourself in the dining room. And the brandare great. This is the location you want to visit. Worth the drive if you are not in Llano. Read more

Amazing experience! I was a little confused at first....you pick your meat selection from the smoker pit! Then go inside to the... sides, etc. The chicken had a nice taste and literally fell off the bones. There was a nice selection of sides and once seatedthere's complimentary pinto beans and bread. The price is right.....$21 for a whole chicken....total order was $31 and somechange after sides and a drink. We had plenty left over to take so it's a win-win for us. Traveling on these roads; this was aquick pit stop! We will be sure to stop again so faith points us in this direction. ?????????? Read more

I came through a couple days ago and got brisket, Turkey, sausage and one beef rib ($14 for the one rib!). I was so... disappointed, everything was way over salted, but mostly edible except for the beef rib. It was so salty I had to throw it away. And I put salt on everything, drives me wife nuts. If it was too salty for me, it was extremely salty. Brisket and turkey wasjust okay, but again salty, sausage was better than average. Mac and cheese, green beans and pintos were really good. Probablywon?t go back, that rib was awful. Read more

This place is AWESOME! Just what you look for when seeking out the perfect BBQ. I drove to Llanno on a recommendation to find... some of the best BBQ in Texas. I tried the beef bones and brisket. OMG! All the beans and bread you can eat, and the sweettea that just can't be beat! Try the desserts if you can. Go ahead save some room for that berry cobbler! A real recommend.... Read more

5/5! The original Cooper's location in Llano best characterizes Texas barbecue. While many other bbq establishments have popped... up in the last 5-10 years with a new-age take on classics, I feel that Cooper's has likely changed little and was exactly what Iwas looking for in a bbq experience akin to my childhood. You order food at the pit and then it's an assembly line of sides. The fixins station has a hot pot of sauce and beans and the restaurant is a very vibrant atmosphere. I highly recommend thebrisket, pork chop, pork ribs, and Cooper's even managed to nail the beef rib (which I am often skeptical on given the mostlyfat content). Will return when I'm in the area. Well done Cooper's! Read more

We've had Coopers on our to-visit list for a while now. Today we stopped in on our way to the lake. I've got to say, their... reputation for good food help true. The meat is offered up on a massive pit outside the restaraunt. You choose your meat by thepound or per quantity (half/whole) chicken. Then you go inside through a cafeteria style line where you pick your sides andpay. The seating offered is also cafeteria style with long wooden picnic tables. For our family of five, we chose a halfchicken, pound if brisket and sausage. The brisket was excellent. The bark was savory and the meat was tender and juicy. Thechicken was pretty good as well. The beans, pickles and sauce were all housed in a self-serve section by the sodafountain. Overall, it was a great experience. This wouldn't be a frequent stop for us as the meal was in the $70 range.
