Based on a few comments we got on the place we decided to try it out. The portions are generous and the the food overall was... good. My husband ordered the Saturday special ?Burnt Ends? - the meat was tender! I ordered the BBQ Beef Sandwich and crispyfries. While the meat was tender and generously portioned - I found it a bit bland and frankly the BBQ sauce was watery withvery little taste - being in Texas I usually try the BBQ sandwiches and I have had better. But the fries did come out nice andcrisp like I like them! We will come back to try the other items on their menu. Read more

I ordered a seafood platter with a side ordered rib since I had heard good things about them. The food was cooked perfectly with... the right amount of crispiness in the fried food. The catfish was just a little too much cornmeal for my taste but it wascertainly acceptable. The grilled shrimp was cooked perfectly and seasoned about right. The frog leg was cooked about right butwas not seasoned well enough. The stuffed crab while cooked perfectly, it did not have enough crab in it and not seasoned nearwell enough. In fact they were sweet instead of savory. I think they were not handmade so whoever they get them from is theculprit. The salad and dressing was perfect with a blend of colors and croutons and exactly made dressing. The best part howeverwas not the seafood but the rib which had excellent flavor and cooked perfectly. All in all I will return but for the ribs. Ifyou go for seafood, go for the fried catfish or shrimp but steer away from the stuffed crab. Read more

We had the Floridas special platter (something like that). It was definitely a generous portion. Enough for my husband and I to... eat there and take home? our server was friendly and tended to our needs. He made sure our drinks stayed full. I also enjoyedthe gospel music playing in the restaurant, it made us comfortable as that type Of music is up our alley!! Now, the reason whyI gave this place a 3 star is because the Food was ok. I like my food really hot and it was not. I loved the catfish though. Itwas cooked hard and the cornmeal was crisp to perfection. There isn?t too many places or people that can cook it like that?. Ialso enjoyed the yam patty?s. They were my favorite. Read more

Stopped in to grab a bite with the cycle group and it was great!!! The only thing that wasn't good was the drinks. I don't know... if it was the ice or machine, but I tried soda, sweet tea and lemonade and they were all horrible. Enough of that... the burntends, ribs, sausage, potato salad and baked beans were all good. I've never had burnt ends that were this and taste this good.Hats off to Mrs. Florida who graced us with her presence today. We had to personally thank her and the staff for good serviceand great food!!!! Now if they would serve drinks in bottles and cans, they'll definitely get 5 stars. Read more
