The food was just deep-fried and slapped on the plate. It tasted like they just got it out of a bag. The price would say... otherwise. The wait time was about 30 minutes. There is only one bench to wait, if taken you will have to stand in thedoorway. The waitress was very nice but way overworked. All the political stickers on wall, was just not for me. The wait staff is amazing! So attentive and quick. I got a 1/2 hamburger steak and I think it was an issue with the grease and a... grill that badly needed scraped. The brown gravy and the steak tasted exactly the same. Like old grease. I think that happensnow and then when a place stays as busy as they do. The mashed potatoes were awesome though! I've been here 4 times so far. The 1st time was for the fried chicken which I had heard good things about. It was ok but not... earth-shattering. On subsequent visits I had the chicken fried steak and also the standard burger. Both were pretty good and thesides were tasty. They came with jalapeño cornbread (fries came with the burger) which was decent as well. Overall it's a goodlunch spot with great service and reasonable prices. Read more

What can you say about this place other than it Is THE PLACE for lunch! In sight of the State Capitol dome, you'll be rubbing... shoulders with the HUNGRY here. Our waitress, Angie was phenomenal! She was greeted us quickly and was attentive our entire meal. Our food also came out in what... seemed like minutes and was hot.
