This place was strange. We needed reservations, but there were lots of open seats....but they seated us like a restaurant. BUT... after that, we were all on our own. They do self guided tastings with pre-poured plastic to go cups (not weird to do a selfguided tasting but the other wineries we've been to that have done this have given us a flight of wines in glasses poured fromthe bottle when we order, these cups were stacked by the dozens behind the counter so no telling when they were actuallypoured). And the snacks are all pre-made in a cooler with crackers and such for purchase. Kinda felt like a bunch of short cutsto save time but left us feeling as if we were just on an assembly line. The location and inside were lovely. Overall, a weirdbut not horrible experience. I wouldn't come back though. The staff were also pretty cold except for the one sweet lady that satus. Read more

We were lucky enough to get tickets to “Full Circle” dinner at Cellardoor Winery in partnership with Walkers Maine as our... first ever visit to Cellardoor, and we were blown away by everyone involved. The venue itself is beyond gorgeous. The pond andsurrounding area was filled with fall colors, and you can see the vineyards in the background. The barn itself is pretty muchoriginal and beautifully restored / maintained. Everything from the chandeliers to stools is beautiful inside. The staff wasso amazingly friendly and attentive, and all the fellow guests were also so welcoming to us out of towners. We hear this wastheir first event back after Covid, and it was beautifully done. The wines were beautifully paired with each app, entree, anddessert. Each course and app and wine was amazing!!! We appreciated the Chefs coming out to talk about the swordfish and theshort rib preparations. The reserve red was so incredible - I wish I had bought some bottles to enjoy for the occasionalafter-work glass of wine. I wish we lived nearby to go there often, but for now, it’s just a beautiful evening during ourhoneymoon! Thank you Cellardoor team for everything!!! Read more

The Ned Said Red 2017 blend was most excellent. My second favorite was the Cab Sauv 2017. Gorgeous views of the vineyard. While... most of the wines we sampled were not local to Maine, Cellardoor DOES have their own vintages, we just prefer more grape-basedwines than fruit-based. They have a great selection of multiple types of wines. Recommended! Read more

First, I have always loved visiting this winery & make it a regular stop when in the area. I’ve been visiting Cellardoor since... the early 2000s. But the last time I was there I was snubbed. That’s the only explanation I have for how I felt I wastreated. To be fair, I was by myself & just off a hike. But it wasn’t the first time I came into the establishment that way,& in the past I’ve always been treated respectfully & just kind of felt like an old friend. This time I was looked at, often,by employees who never acknowledged me but showered other people with attention. I stood in line waiting to buy my 2 bottles ofwine for a long time, again, actually being looked at then turned away from. When someone did finally ask what I was waiting for(that’s how she put it), I said I just wanted to buy these two bottles of wine. No smile nor welcoming vibe. I felt like I wasbothering her. When I mentioned how I felt, she argued with me, versus trying to adjust the situation. She explained why the wayI was feeling was erroneous, which of course made me feel even worse for mentioning it. Couldn’t wait to get the heck out ofDodge! I’ve done quite well for myself over the years (business-wise) and wouldn’t dream of treating someone who wasfeeling undermined (for whatever reason) the way I was treated. It’s not conducive to personal success nor the success of anestablishment. I was going to let it go, after all, I had a great stay in Maine outside of this experience, but then decided tospeak my peace. I’ve never seen the girls who I believe were ignoring me on my recent visit to Cellardoor. I’ll volley thiswhole thing back to them. I wasn’t overly impressed with their customer service skills either. Anyway, I ended up giving awaythe two bottles to a parking attendant in Boston. Wine is symbolic & ceremonial, as well as a tasty treat. Didn’t want thenegative mojo associated with it this time. I did favorably highlight Cellardoor on a Camden website recently. And I Read more

This is a fabulous winery! The place itself is stunning. Beautiful details and finishes in every corner. There are many places... to choose to sit for your tasting; lawn, deck, patio, vineyard bar, tasting room, etc... You can chose one of 3 pre-selectedflights, but they are happy to check on you and bring you other tastings if there if something you wanted to try not on yourlist. They also offer wine by the glass, beer, and snacks for sale. Wander around and take in the entire venue and property. It's impressive. The employees were all friendly, respectful, and helped make our visit a wonderful afternoon. Read more
