This is a very average breakfast place. I judge breakfast food by whether I could make the same meal at home and have it taste... better, and I definitely could. I only feel compelled to write reviews if someplace is remarkably good or unexpectedly not so good. I am not from Lincoln but... when I visit I always try somewhere new to eat and I pick based on reviews. Penelope's had very good reviews and I am abreakfast fan so it was a must that I give it a try. The place was small and packed which is often a sign of greatness. Theyhave a board up front that lets guests know they will only have a max of 1 hour for their meal which I suppose is reasonablegiven how busy they are, but I don't like to feel rushed. The waitress never refilled my coffee or water one time even thoughboth were gone before I received my meal. She was scarce and not very friendly. I had a vegetable omelet with green salsa,toast, and hash browns. It was a large meal and looked good but had no flavor at all. I never add salt to food but had to here.So, despite the hype, I don?t think this is a place I would return to. Read more
The food here was super good. We had family from out of town meet us here for breakfast on Labor day. It was very busy so there... was quite a wait but that should be expected on a Holiday at a cafe. The service was quick and good. I will definitely be comingback. Try the funnel cake french toast! Read more
We came to Lincoln to attend a concert, I found this place on a YouTube video and it didn't disappoint. The service was super... friendly and attentive. Nothing fancy, just the way I like my breakfast. The kitchen staff was fast and oh yeah, the coffeewas very good. Read more

Yea so this is an awesome place to eat some grub and the atmosphere is ideal for a place to eat at. We had Dee as a server... today, she was super friendly and didn't hover but kept the drinks full for us (very important for me). We ended up having thefunnel cake french toast with eggs, hash browns, and a choice of bacon or sausage (team bacon here). It was amazing and wentdown quite easy, price wise I'm digging it as we spent like $11 between the two of us including the drinks. 5/5 will visitagain when I happen by!
