Honest Abes is a very nice burger joint. Would highly recommend for a filling lunch. They have lots of burger options, including... vegan patties and portabella burgers. Their truffle parmasean fries are very tasty, but not too overwhelming. Unfortunately theywere out of several items the day we went to try it, but it was still an overall nice experience. My boyfriend and I went there for lunch and got it to-go. We both got the ?Greatest Burger Ever?, freedom fries and sides of... ranch and bbq sauce. The burgers were top notch! The buns were fresh, and the patties were juicy! I don?t know what exactly the?awesome sauce? is that was on the burgers, but it?s soooo good. It?s like a seasoned mayo. The natural cut fries were crispyand delicious!!! Seasoned wonderfully. I loved their dill ranch! I?m a bbq sauce lover, and I really liked theirs! Stopped here at honest Abe?s for lunch and order the fireside burger and parmesan fries, it was hands down the best burgers in... town, that I have had by far, it was delicious, the fries were fantastic as well. It is rated as one of the top places to eat in Lincoln the burgers are definitely 5/5. The double chocolate milkshake thou was... terrrible. Their birthday cake ones was great and the staff was willing to make a children size one for my daughter. Read more
This was my first try here, after hearing positive comments about Honest Abe's from some acquaintances. Ordered "The United... States of America" burger, the "Freedom fries" with the crispy option enabled, and a root beer float. Chose the option forcurbside pickup. I arrive at the approximate time that was given for the order to be ready and replied to the text as itrequests. I sit there for an additional 15 minutes watching people leave and go in. I understand they're busy but I call tosee how much longer it would be for my order, and they tell me the order will be right out (and telling me when they brought itout that they were busy and couldn't see my car). I drive home, less than 5 minutes, and am basically just greeted bydisappointment. The fries were quite possibly some of the soggiest fries I've ever had, and were partially cold to boot. Ididn't even eat most of them due to how unappetizing they were. The root beer float didn't come assembled, with the ice creamand root beer separated. The root beer also had ice in it, so I guess block the ice from falling into the ice cream as I try tomix them to make my float. The burger was delicious, so I guess that was the saving grace. Overall, between the service, thedisappointing fries, and the float not being a float but some ice cream and a root beer with ice, I'm not super keen on makingthis a retry. PLEASE DONT TRY THEIR CHICKEN PATTIES. It was a terrible experience. The patty was burnt on the outside and undercooked on the... inside. Their truffle fries and shake was good though. It was super expensive too. Read more
My wife and I stopped by tonight on the way home from watching a University of Nebraska gymnastic meet. So just a few minute... drive from the Arena. I love burgers and have become a pretty good judge of them and most of my review will most likely be aburger place. This is one of the Top 5 burgers tasting I have ever had!! Great tasting meat for sure. My wife and I both hadthe Hammer of Thor burger- chipotle cream cheese / griddled brussels sprouts / bacon mayonnaise / pepper jack cheese -allergies: dairy / egg / soy Great tasting meat like I said earlier. The chipotle was just a hint of spice and the Brusselssprouts were grilled and crispy on the edges like they should be. Great tasting bun as well and nicely stacked so nothing wasfalling out when it arrived at the table. Nothing worse then all the toppings coming out the side or not even under the bun:-) Also we got Parmesan truffle tots and Parmesan truffle fries. They were good but noting to rave about. Maybe I would saythe tots were better if i had to choose. My wife got the gluten free bun ( because she needs to eat gluten free) and it was abun if you have it have one. The meat was a 5 star! The fries were a 4 star Friendly staff a 4.5 and cleanliness was the areathat can use some help. Table, floor and restroom were in need of some attention. Read more
I found this location not quite as good as the downtown location. The food took extremely long (30+ minutes) to come out and... when it finally did, the burger was lukewarm and the bun was cold. Judging by the conversations around me, our table wasn't theonly one having the same problem. Read more
