We came here last minute and was able to be seated immediately. Our server was great and very attentive. We all enjoyed... everything we had. Other than being a bit loud it was a pleasant experience. The restaurant was clean. The food was great and our waiter was... excellent considering there were 9 of us. The prices are fair. Management was accommodating for our large group. The atmospherewas nice, the decor is cute, and the bathroom was clean. Will go again. Read more
The best local food I have found yet. Everything is mostly homemade with incredible flavor. Definitely will be back soon.
On Thursday, July 14, 2022, I had the good fortune of having dinner here with my brother and his wife while they were in town.... Our visit was the spur of the moment with an hour and a half before closing. I did not know this until I called and was toldthat as long as we arrived before closing, we would be seated. This right here created my first thought of just how awesome thisplace had to be?but of course, we arrived much sooner than that. When we exited our vehicles, my brother stated how he knew thiswas good food coming because the smell was in the air from the parking lot! Two plates of fish and chips, shrimp and grits,fried chicken livers, green beans, collards, carrot cake and some drinks later, we began to slip into the southern cooking coma!Our server was very pleasant, easy to talk to and we couldn?t have asked for a better representative for that restaurant. TheRoot Cellar is my new favorite place. I am so disappointed in myself in that I always venture out to other areas when thediamond in the rough is right here in my own backyard. Food was good but had to knock off some stars for the service. Had to ask multiple times for drinks refills. Waitress forgot to... bring salads before the entrées. Got sides incorrect. Had to ask for Togo containers 3 times times. Only downside to the foodwere the grits were very plain. We all know if you don't cook them with salt it's very tough to get them right. I've been here several times and every time the food and service has been incredible! The hot honey chicken sandwich is hands... down the best chicken sandwich around! The burgers are delicious as well! Every side I've gotten has been great as well fromthe okra, to mac and cheese and cream corn! Employees are always very friendly and attentive! We LOVE this restaurant. It's always busy because the food is delicious! The chicken kale wrap is amazing. They marinate it (I... think overnight) and it's so tender and tasty. The goat cheese makes it melt in your mouth. The burger is always cooked exactlyas ordered. We have eaten here about six times and always had a great experience. Friendly staff and fast service. The atmosphere and food here have yet to disappoint. I had the fried chicken sandwich for the first time. The piece of chicken... was just the right amount of crispy with all the juiciness still there while completely cooked through. They add a honey drizzlesauce on the chicken... It was amazing.
