Reviews for Junius Lindsay Vineyard in Lexington, NC
Ok..here is the deal. All the reviews you read of 1 or 2 stars is true. The owner..Mike is salty, rude and arrogant. Higher than... mighty. When we told him that Weathervane Winery told us about his location he was rude about them. Unprofessional...to add hisattitude is zero customer service. Told us why would we show up at 4pm to a winery tasting...well duh your hours show your open.YOU ALL BEEN WARNED...Don't waste your time to be treated so poorly. Read more
This is one of the best vineyards in the area! Bring a picnic and enjoy all of the delicious wines! Michael knows wine!
This past May we went to the Junius Lindsay Vineyard for an afternoon while visiting family in NC, and loved its location and... outdoor tasting room. A beautiful breeze flowed through the shaded room as we sat drinking a couple nice bottles of wine whilegazing on lovely rows of grapevines with rose bushes at the ends of the rows. The quiet location is tucked away from the roadand behind a large field of corn which made it felt like a private retreat. We brought our own picnic lunch and just basked inthe ambiance of the place while savoring several of their wine offerings and enjoying a bottle of "Forget Me Not" and a bottleof "Specialty Bubbly Rose" with our family. I highly recommend this vineyard as the perfect little getaway. On Saturdays, theyeven offer musical ensembles and performers to enjoy. What more can you ask for? ???????? Read more
I gave them 2 stars only because of the tasting room associate who was friendly and warm. The owner is crabby and the wines are... the worst I have tasted in NC and that is saying a lot. Stay clear of this winery- the atmosphere can ruin a pleasant day Read more
I wouldn't recommend. Overpriced wine and tastings for the content. I found the flavors too strong - fruity and not always... pleasantly combined - and that other grapes in the area are producing much tastier wine. The bubbly rosé, nice location, andfriendly lady staff member (owner seems crabby) was what earned more than 1 star. Read more
They older man was wonderful with us and tried his best to give us something that we would like even as novices. He was very... sweet and joked with us. They serve mainly dry wines, but they are local and he was very knowledgeable. We had a wonderful timeand the man told us to pursue it and not get to caught up in what other say you should eat with wine. Do what you want and havefun with it. Read more
French wines that are unusual in the area. Dry wines, not sweet but very complex and delicious. I'm usually a fan of sweeter... wines and I still like their stuff. The owner and tasting room manager are really well informed and are great with everyone fromthe most educated wine afficinato to a newbie. The setting and space are lovely and it's a great place to kick back any time ofyear. Tasting prices are comparable to the rest of the area, bottles can get a bit pricy. Read more
One of our favorite stops when we're in the area for wine tastings. In typical tastings elsewhere, we'll sample several wines... and maybe walk away with 1-2 bottles, but Junius Lindsay Vineyard is quite the opposite -- we want a bottle of just abouteverything we taste! Read more
