Tonight we decided to sit at the bar. No one asked if we wanted a dinner menu and I was patiently waiting for someone to notice... me looking at them to ask. My husband gave up and asked a bartender who was directly in front of us. Her head was down so hesaid "excuse me" and she whipped her head up and gave such a glare we almost left. After that he asked for another oldfashioned. He asked me to taste it and I almost spit it out. It tasted like literally eating an orange peel. My husband askedher name. It's Amber. She asked for his and then told him she'll still call him that guy. Not a good move Amber. It was prettyinsulting. For the last 30 minutes(while waiting for wings) she's complained its too slow and has looked at her phone more thanpeople wanting to order. My husband went outside and left his drink. Amber said does he not love us. I said he doesn't love thedrink it tasted weird. And she dumped it out. No remake. No refund. On a not cheap drink. PS if you've ever worked at a bar youknow there's a smell. A closing up dirty rag smell. It smells like that. Thankfully we go home tomorrow Read more
They're hot brown does not deserve to even be called a hot brown! It was pitiful!! It was the worst hot brown I have ever had in... my entire 62 years of being alive!! Way overpriced for what it is and what you get, plus it was WAY too cold inside for my partyto tolerate. Nobody in our party enjoyed the food much at all they need to hire another Chef as far as we are concerned. Mywife had to even reorder the salad because the chicken was way too chewey and the croutons were oversized and soggy at the sametime. What a joke this place was!! We will never go there again. Welcoming and warm environment. A wide range of Bourbon and beer options. Excellent service. Unfortunately, though I checked... first when making reservations, the salmon dish did not have the creme sauce that made the dish exceptional. The waitress mostkindly offered to see if the chef could make the sauce to serve on the side. This was like watered down flour gravy. So sorrythe sauce has been abandoned. Read more
I almost don't want to do a good review here as it might help make the place too crowded! A great spot in Lexington! Part of... the Hilton Curio collection Campbell House Inn historic hotel. Great food and over 300 bourbons! Amber (great bartender!) wasmixing some great bourbon concoctions! Nick, the food and beverage manager a great person to speak with for the history. The service here was the highlight of our visit, our waitress was attentive and very friendly. The food was pretty good, even... though the ramen special was more like a stir fry in a little bit of broth. The food highlight was the bread pudding fordessert. Cocktails were pretty but disappointing for their price, too much ice was added and they tasted watered down. Theatmosphere was fun with a live band playing some classic hits. Was here late one evening for a snack and drinks. Place was mostly empty, but it was late. There seemed to be only one waitress... working but she did a nice job juggling all the tables. Poutine was burned and flavorless, had to request salt as there wasn?tany on the table. Cocktails were tasty but a bit overpriced for what you got. Bourbon is extremely overpriced and not worth theprice. The flight was good enough but each sample was about a thimble-full pour. A ?full? pour of one, at about the same priceas 4 with the flight was also about the same price. Do yourself a favor and if your must go here save yourself some cash and goget a bottle of bourbon elsewhere. Enjoyed our dinner, the cocktails were fabulous! I had the salmon salad, and enjoyed it - salmon was perfectly prepared. My... husband had the hot brown - he as well enjoyed his meal. Good value for quality - they had live music when we went, so I enjoyedthe atmosphere. We will be back again. Read more
