Super disappointed in The Mouse Trap today, Ive been coming since I was little and my Mom was a regular before that, my daughter... was in a rush to get to campus today and needed a quick sandwich, I sent her to The Mouse Trap and when she walked in the 3employees looked at her and continued cleaning, she stood around for a minute and finally asked if she could get a Turkeysandwich, the employee she asked huffed a little and made her a Turkey sandwich, meanwhile 2 other guests came in and weregreeted with smiles and Hellos and appeared to be regulars, Im a regular, my daughter isn?t but I sent her there because thefood is always great and the service is spectacular, not today and not for my daughter who happens to be biracial, I?m not thetype to pull the race card but if everyone else was treated awesome and she wasn?t what else should we think? It makes me sadbecause this place is a little peace of my growing up but if my daughter isn?t welcome neither is my money. Super disappointed.Shame on the 3 people working today around 5:15 p.m. Read more

The Chicken Salad is delicious and the Pimento Cheese is iconic - people stop in Lexington just to get some! We recently tried... their baked potato salad and it was so good! Highly recommend trying their ready made food options. Workers are always nice andwilling to help! Prices for kitchen accessories seem expensive. Read more

I ordered chicken salad, pimento cheese, and pasta salad with some crackers and a peanut butter cookie through door dash. I... sampled the cheese and the chicken salad, all was fine. Finally i ate my whole side portion of pasta salad and i instantlystarted feeling queasy, rushed to the bathroom, and threw the entire thing back up mere seconds after finishing it. Not surewhere it went wrong. Disappointed that i spent $40+ on food just to have to throw it away because it made me sick. Read more

Since my family moved to Lexington from the east coast, we have exclusively used The Mousetrap in the Lansdowne Shoppes as our... source of authentic Italian meats. Since taking over as manager Chris has continued to uphold The Mousetrap's decades oldtradition of high standards in authenticity, quality and taste with his superb imported Italian meats such as the Genoa salami, sopressata, prosciutto and Italian sausage that Chris and his staff prepared for us recently. Once again The Mousetrap played animportant role in one of our family's traditional Italian feasts, this one celebrating the birthdays of my son and I. Asalways, The Mousetrap's service and packaging was also impeccable. Many thanks to Chris for continuing to bring first classservice and the authentic Taste of Italy to Lexington! Read more

How disappointing! We wanted a ?nice lunch? which we?ve experienced at the Mousetrap multiple times in the past. However we... will not be back again. The food was good but the service left MUCH to be desired. The only adjective that can describe thecounter servers is ?sullen.? No smiles. No ?welcome, can we help you?? No ?thank you.? We had to beg for napkins and wereinformed ?only one per customer.? There was no ice for drinks and the tiny little cups we were given (only upon request) werehandled carelessly by the cashier who ran his finger over the rims. We were surprised when the total was MUCH more thanexpected and later realized that we had been charged twice for two sandwiches. They did refund the overcharge, but weren?t ableto even offer an apology. They could use a quick course in customer service?.or at least some common etiquette training! Read more

Fantastic deli and specialty food. Large portions. Everything I've had here is delicious. You have to try the pimento cheese.... It is unlike any other I've had. Read more

I love the sandwiches and soups, but my favorite part of the Mousetrap is the people who work there. They make me feel like I am... being greeted by a friend. Thank you for such a lovely atmosphere. Read more

I can be difficult to please and I find that I'd rather have my fingers broken off than go to many "beloved" restaurants. That... being said I was very very impressed by today's visit to The Mousetrap. At the advice of an employee I tried the pastrami withswiss on light rye and the wild mushroom soup. I was impressed at the quality of the meat and cheese on the sandwich, both wereflavorful but the pastrami was especially good and very tender. The soup was fantastic. Rich, creamy and earthy. Everything amushroom soup should be. I whole heartedly recommend this establishment to anyone who likes an independent deli style eatery. Read more
