Reviews for Pearl's Pizza in Lexington, KY
I really appreciate the the small menu which makes decision making fast and easy. Salads are fluffy, well dressed, and have... thoughtful toppings. Pizza is one of the best Neapolitan style offerings in town. Drinks are delicious, seasonal, and mostlylocal. Overall this is a great little spot for dinner! Read more
The good: very well curated space. Feels so cozy and warm and almost like you?re not in Lexington. The waiter (I don?t remember... his name) was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and described the menu with such vibrance and enthusiasm. The pizzas themselves werepretty good as well. Very unique selection and good variety. The could be improved: the pizza wasn?t piping hot and took a longtime to come out, even considering the crowd. The pizzas are also pretty pricey, a few dollars more than what feels like areasonable price considering the size of the pies, the location of the restaurant, etc. The cocktails were okay, nothingparticularly wowing. And of course, the commonly griped about 20% gratuity. It?s poorly advertised in the restaurant and it?sonly verbally mentioned to you once you get your check. I understand when restaurants do this for bigger parties, but I don?tagree that it should be automatically applied to all orders. Yes, service staff should be paid well and unfortunately far toomany people don?t tip enough (or at all), but I do think this policy goes just a little too far out of what most people believeis reasonable. Overall, nothing to write home about but I would go back because none of the things I mentioned that needsimprovement are enough to turn me off completely. Just know what to expect before you go and decide if it?s the right diningexperience for you. Read more
Really delicious wood-fired pizzas!!! The H25 was my favorite!!! The large pieces of Chanterelle (...I think) mushrooms paired... with cheese crumbles and sun-dried tomatoes was a symphony of flavors. My husband really enjoyed the Marinara pizza. Thoughit's not your typical Marinara... it's loaded with spicy peppers (the menu said fermented Serranos, however they looked & tastedlike jalapeños), capers and Kalmata olives. It's also vegan, so no cheese. The Gelato was really tasty; Almond was our favoriteand the Vegan Chocolate pudding was great too. Texture-wise, it reminded me of a mousse, wasn't overly sweet, and was sprinkledwith a bit of salt. It had a very rich chocolate / cocoa flavor, perfect for dark chocolate lovers. Read more
