Enjoyed a good meal with a variety of the offerings. This meal almost didn't happen. I made a mistake on the booking app open... table. I mistakenly booked for the following night. I went to the host stand and realized my mistake. The maitre d was rudeunhelpful and told me it would be a 2 hour wait with multiple tables open in the restaurant. We left and was looking foranother restaurant on open table and Italx had a table available 10 mins after my mistake. I booked the table and was seatedpromptly by another hostess. It's frustrating when someone tells you there's a problem but does nothing to help solve it. His dismissive handling of the situation would have cost the restaurant a $150 party. Anyhow we were seated, enjoyed 2 greatappetizers (fried ravioli special and the meat balls) had a couple of entrees and a dessert. Check out the pics. The server (Hannah) was exceptional. Overall I may return here but not sure. The food was good but not exceptional or great. Read more

This place is one of my new favorite restaurants. My wife and I ate here recently for the first time for a special occasion and... we were blown away. The service is great, the venue is amazing, and the food was even better! We got the Focaccia bread withwhipped Ricotta for an appetizer and the Linguine di Gamberi and the Gnocchi Cashew Alfredo for our main meals. Both of our maindishes were amazing, but the Linguine di Gamberi was definitely our favorite between the two! Read more

Absolutely exquisite. Every 2 weeks after church, my husband and I look for a new restaurant we haven't experienced. Somewhere... to heighten our palette and challenge our tastebuds with new robust flavors. Sunday, July 10th we thought we'd go downtownLexington to find something new. I happen to be picky and like what I like; then dislike what I don't. My husband can eat aboutanything so finding a restaurant that satisfies us both is often challenging. However, much to our surprise lunch wastransformed into superb dining and the service was outstanding. We lucked out and had Chris the GM as our host. Caprese, Italianbread, Polette and Pollo Paninis with an order of the potatoes and a side salad. This lunch was scrumptious! Well done ItalXfor you have gone above and beyond! We can't wait to try dinner someday as lunch was a fabulous treat. This is one happy couplethat will certainly be back to delight in your magnificent menu! Italx what an exceptional employee you have who knew the menuwell and was able to customize an order to delight the tastebuds of his diners! Also for those seeking farm to table freshproduce restaurants... Chris informed us that they get their tomatoes from the farmers market held in the courtyard squarediagonally across the street from their location! Everything tastes better with a fresh summer tomato ???? ???? ???? Read more

Delicious, fresh, and homemade food! I really enjoyed the food, drinks, atmosphere, and we never felt rushed to leave (we were... there for about 2 hrs). The only bad thing was having to remind our waiter to bring us some drinks. I would recommend this placeto others, and I would come back to try more food. Read more

On a cold snowy evening Fat Man Reviews found its way to ItalX in Lexington, KY. ItalX is an elegant Italian restaurant that... serves elevated contemporary Italian food. They offer a large wine list and are located in the City Center, downtown. Westarted with Calamari. This was prepared with fresh squid, pickled peppers and a lemon-basil aioli. The breading was light andfried perfectly. The squid was tender and slightly chewy, while the peppers added a bright vinegar kick that was very pleasingto the tongue. The aioli was slightly sweet and acidic, offering a great balance to the dish We also tried Arancini. This is afried fontina and risotto ball, served with basil-pistachio pesto and marinara. The crispiness of the fontina on the outside wasperfect. The risotto was flavorful, and the marinara was fresh. The pesto was good but chunky, different and enjoyable. Myfiancé tried the Butternut Squash Gnocchi. This dish consists of Pecorino butter, kale, mushrooms and cipollini. The gnocchiwas light and fluffy but slightly doughy. The vegetables were all cooked well. The butter sauce was excellent and flavoredwell. I tried the Tuscan Farro soup. The soup had white beans, onions, celery, carrots and roasted peppers. The soup had agood earthy flavor, the vegetables were cooked well, as was the Farro. The beans were inconsistent. Half were fully cooked, andthe other half were a little under. It was a tatsy soup though. For my entrée I had the Marsala di Vitello. The meal wascomposed of sautéed veal scallopini, mushrooms, cipollini, Marsala wine and spaghetti. The wine, vegetables and spaghetti wereall cooked well and had a great taste. The mushrooms were the star of the show. They were sweet, meaty and almost fruity. Icould have just ate them. The veal fell short, as it was a little tough and chewy, but flavor wise it was good. ItalX offersseveral salads, appetizers, entrées and desserts. The have a full bar and offer several after dinner drinks such as co Read more

ItalX Having a love of Italian food meant that a trip to ItalX in the new City Center complex in downtown Lexington was a must.... We had hoped to get there much sooner, but was it ever worth the wait… The space has great ambiance. Light, airy, tastefullyunderstated, yet very inviting. We were fairly early diners and were glad to see the space very active, yet reasonably quiet. Ifyou dine in Lexington you know how some spaces resonate so much noise it can be distracting… ambiance and attention to detailmean something, and ItalX hit both. By the end of our meal the space was filled - so happy to see! There are many Italianrestaurants in Lexington that have huge menus and execute them well. The offerings at ItalX are fewer than some, but thediversity is there for all tastes. I’m not a chef, but i have travelled to Italy, and can say that the menu reflects a moreauthentic crafting than many in town. Kudos Chef Lundy! And their selection of wines are very good, and also a focal point oftheir ambiance… a very nice touch. We selected a Chianti, Capineto, that was very reasonably priced, and was very light, slightly smokey, and paired well with our selections as it turned out… And is that menu ever executed well… we started withthe Proscuitto di Parma (which was a popular choice for many tables - yes, I look!) that includes burrata, tomatoes, freshbasil, and toasted focaccia. The shaved prosciutto was a delicious, melt in your mouth cut, and the burrata another one of thoseregional selections in my view. Lovely - not overpowering. The combinations you could compose on the properly toasted focacciawere a wonderful. The tomatoes and fresh basil could be interwoven with the meat and cheese, but were delicious samplings ontheir own. A great start, opening the palate nicely. I chose the Marsala di Vitello, and Amy the Halibut Scottate, bypassingthe salad and pasta selections simply because we are very light eaters (and love our deserts - room!). And we chose wis Read more

Wonderful atmosphere, attentive service, and very delicious food. You need to expect to pay higher prices here than at some... other Italian American restaurants, but the experience and ambience are worth the extra cost. Everyone enjoyed their food, withtwo notable items that were truly fantastic where the arancini appetizer and the seasonal special butternut squash angolatti(half moon shaped stuffed pasta). Read more
