Classically elegant In decor, ambiance, and service, but with a more relaxed and au courant vibe and menu, Dudley’s on Short... is a true dining pleasure and not to be missed if you’re visiting Lexington! I sat at the bar and observed great camaraderieamongst the bar tenders, servers, and maître d’…who also interacted professionally but very welcoming to all the diners. MyKeys to The Castle cocktail was expertly prepared with well balanced, fresh flavors. The Dudley’s Eggs with trout werescrumptious and not to be missed. While the menu was amazingly deep and diverse, I couldn’t help but choose my entree from thenight’s special list, which offered no less than 6 options! The cobia with purple sticky rice, snap peas, and curry veloutéwas culinary perfection. One of my best dining experiences ever! Read more

Stopped in for late brunch Saturday. The Bacon Beignets are one of the most wonderful thing I have had for brunch in forever. I... always try their gazpacho when in season and the honeydew avocado gazpacho was excellent. Great brunch spot Saturday & Sunday! Read more

One of those fancy restaurants in downtown lexington with a wide range of wines and bourbon!! Do try the baked goat cheese pairs... well with bourbon!! We tried the Pasta Dudley (did not like it much, very bland in taste and too soupy), Steak Frites (wellcooked steak) and Salmon (perfect balance of lemon sour and cheese)!! The tables were a little too small!! They have 3 seatingareas - dining hall, lounge and outside!! Try making a prior reservation if you wish to dine in the dining hall. Lounge area hasthe street view but crammed and small tables!! Read more

If I could rate our dinner here with a 4.5, I would. We had some absolutely delectable things and others not quite as... desirable. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice and we definitely enjoyed our linen covered tablecloth and the table settingas well. My husband LOVED his steak and would give it a five. He rarely gives a steak a five, but he said this one was cookedperfectly and the best one he’s had in a long time. I also loved my halibut and would give it a five, I thought it tasteddelectable. We had a difference of opinion on the Wilted Brussel Sprout salad, but he loves Brussel sprouts and I don’t. Ourwaiter quickly brought me another salad ????, however, I’m not a vinaigrette lover and so their salads for me were between a 2and 3. My husband, however, would give his Wilted Brussel Sprout Salad a five. We LOVED their Shrimp Cocktail and would orderit again, it tasted wonderful to us. We both thought their yeast rolls and Creme Brûlée were about a three and weren’t tooexcited about them. We also both liked their tea, his unsweetened and mine served with a simple syrup and we’d give that afive also. As a whole, it was a very nice dining experience and are thankful we had the opportunity to go. Read more

This was my family's first time eating at Dudley's and while the atmosphere was amazing the food feel short when comparing it to... Tony's and Jeff Ruby's. I ordered the Oysters as one of my appetizers and they were the smallest oysters I have evereaten...lol. I am aware that some oysters from the west coast are smaller but this was ridiculous. The smoked paprika deviledeggs was the highlight of my dinning experience, highly recommended it! The fish and chips were perfect with an amazing coleslawand I finished my meal off with the black tie sundae! My wife and son both had New York strips and were pleased with both. Mywife had the shrimp cocktails which were good and then she finished off her meal with the terramasu which she thought was agreat end to her meal! I would put Dudley's on Short 4th or 5th on the list of the best restaurants in Lexington that I haveeaten at with Tony's being 1, Jeff Ruby's 2, Malone's 3 then Dudley's. All in all it's good place to grab a bite with the pricebeing less but the food just not as good as the others. I would give it a 8 out of 10 but I want to go back when the rooftopdining is reopened. 4.5*, only 2 things from being 5* were they couldn't seat us outside (despite my reservation to do so as tables were full) and I... picked the brunch special based on the Dana's (sweet waitress' recommendation). She came back to the table later saying it wassold out. Food delicious and dessert a very nice touch. Gentleman who took the reservation Friday afternoon was very nice aswell. Read more

Went to Dudley's on Short for Lexington Restaurant Week and we were not disappointed. The menu they prepared had lots of great... tastes, many of which were new for us. Would come back just for the smoked green olives alone. I'm not an olive guy, but I couldhave eaten a whole bowl of these! Cucumber & buttermilk soup, perfectly prepared pork chop and coffee cake with vanilla bean icecream. All were amazing! We had an opportunity to meet the owner and found her to be very welcoming and gracious. Willcertainly be returning to this Lexington gem in the future. Read more
