Update My wife and I came back a year later for dinner while in town on business. Our service was a bit overwhelmed and tired... from a long day. The food and everything was very good as you should expect. I will say it was just not fantastic like ourlast visit. We had a family outing while in Lexington on business. We had a couple or folks recommend Distilled and I mustsay that everything lived up to the hype. My wife and I are rarely amazed by a restaurant, it's food, staff, and atmospherebut Distilled delivered. We started with the poutine and the handmade meatballs. We had the filet, ny strip, Henry burger, andthe pork chop. Finished with dessert of chocolate mouse, lemon pound cake, and Carmel ice cream. All food and the menu ispictured with this review. In summary here is a quick rating by category for you guys. ????? Decor ????? Ambiance ?????Appetizers ????? Entrees ??? Service ????. Desserts (a little underwhelming after everything else we had. If you are looking for a fine dining experience in the Lexington area with fantastic food great service and great atmosphere, Distilled onJefferson is a must visit locale!!!! Read more

Went for brunch and wasn't a fan. Limited menu and they were out of an item. Salmon was good, Croque Monsier was disappointing.... Great building with a lot of character and some weird electric keyboard music playing. Limited parking in the area. Cute, butprobably won't be returning. Read more

Great place. Mussels as an appetizer was fantastic. Shrimp etouffee was also great. Our wait staff always made sure our... drinks were topped off. Also a co-worker got mixed drink that wasn't quite right. They remade it for free. Great place wouldgo back again. Read more

This restaurant probably doesn’t need another superlative 5-star review, but I’m going to give one anyway. Why? Because... it’s impossible to over-praise this restaurant. I live part time in NYC and even there it’s hard to find a restaurant sospot-on with EVERYTHING: the food, the service, the ambiance, the cocktails… Where’s the Michelin star? This place is thatgood. The meatballs, the fried chicken, the smoked chicken, the dry-rubbed filet, the dessert: everything was not justdelicious, it was all memorably delicious. And the service?—our waiter was so exceptional that I wondered if he mistook us forsomeone famous. Distilled on Jefferson is a restaurant I’ll not soon forget. Read more

Over Valentine's Day weekend, Fat Man Reviews went to Distilled on Jefferson in Lexington, KY, a chic joint serving southern... inspired food. I had the Caddish, a cocktail made with Silas Jones bourbon, Vida Mezcal, Cointreau, and peach. The peach wasupfront and light, then the smoky mezcal and bourbon finished. The drink was sweet, light and refreshing. My fiancé tried theLavender Lemonade, made with Wheatley Vodka, Lavender, Butterfly Pea Tea, Lemon and Soda. It was vodka heavy with bit oflemon. We tried the Tempura Catfish, made with Spicy Yuzu Mayo, Chive, Scallions and sliced radish. The catfish batter waslight, and fried to a nice light brown but was a little mushy in the center and also needed salt. The mayo was great and notoverly spicy, and the radish added a nice crunch for texture. I tried the special of the night, a 18oz South Dakota Rib eyewith red potatoes, Brussels sprouts, herb truffle butter and cognac au poivre sauce. The rib eye was cooked to a perfect rare, had good meat to fat ratio, but it was a little chewy and slightly under seasoned until getting to the center. The trufflebutter added a nice salty earthy flavor and the cognac sauce was wonderful with a great pepper flavor and a slight tang. TheBrussels were sautéed perfectly but unfortunately the potatoes were a bit under done, but did have a good sear on them. Myfiancé tried the Aged Duroc Pork Chop, a 12oz bone in chop dry-aged for 21 days. It is served with Gorgonzola gnocchi, arugula,Broccolini, demi-glace and red onion marmalade. The pork was absolutely fantastic, perfect temperature, tender and juicy. Thegnocchi was amazing, seasoned well with light chew. The arugula and Broccolini were perfect and the marmalade was alsofantastic. It was sweet and fruity tasting while helping round out the dish. I highly recommend ordering thisentrée. Distilled offers lunch and dinner with various sandwiches, salads and entrées. They have a full bar and offer craftcocktails. Service w Read more

A wonderful atmosphere, sophisticated menu, great for date night. We came here for a lunch date - which was every bit as formal... and delightful as a dinner. Staff is attentive, menu is well thought out. Chairs are comfortable, decor is beautiful, music isappropriate. if you are thinking of a special place to go I highly recommend. This is not a good place to go to with little kids(though I'm sure they would accomodate) but is perfect for date, special occasion, it a small gathering. There is a room thatcan be blocked off as well for a more private event. Read more
