Having worked on this side of Lexington for over a year and a half, I was surprised that I hadn't visited this place before. The... front of the building has a nice variety of African and Carribbean goods as well as some homemade pastries and perfumes. Theback of the store is where the restaurant is located. It's a small area without tables or chairs, but it seems that the point isto take it to go or order it online through GrubHub or DoorDash. They offer a nice selection of meals and foods and do have afew vegetarian options, which is nice. I wasn't too keen on most of their menu mainly because I've never tried oxtail and I'mnot a huge fan of goat or fish, but I did order the Jerk Chicken ($7.99) and it was good. The chicken was flavorful and theJoloff rice had a nice warmth (I ordered it 'spicy' and I think it could have been a lot hotter than it really was). I loved theplantains and the vegetables, though! The veggies were fresh and crisp and the plantains tasted like they had been grownlocally! I'll definitely be coming back. It was good food for a decent price. Read more
