The place is pretty awesome for a hole in the wall off the beaten path. Good food with good prices and the owner and staff are... the best part. My order consisted of the stuffed mushrooms and the pasta sampler. Generous portions, but that's all the praise I have for the... food. The sauce the mushrooms came in was off the charts salty and I'm a salt-aholic so if I think it's too salty then the saltcontent is well above a normal person would consider acceptable. The flavor of the stuffing blah. As for the pasta sampler, thered sauce was thin and pretty much just tasted like tomato sauce out of a can. This is the best Italian food in north Texas. Hands down. The sauces are made by scratch and their pastas are all made by hand.... The Calzones and Stromboli look and taste like they’re straight out of a brick fire oven. You’d be doing yourself adisservice by skipping Mariano’s. I haven’t tried a single thing that wasn’t absolutely incredible. Even the salads are(almost ridiculously) generously proportioned with every topping you choose. You have to try this place.
