Amazing portions and delicious food. Good prices (Most things under $12) Friendly staff. Cashier greeted us with a smile and... made sure we knew where all the essentials were (plates, utensils) and even brought us different sauces to try. (Pictured: Top-Manchurian chicken and Hakka chicken. Bottom- Sesame chicken) Will definitely be returning! Read more

The family that runs it is really nice. Some of the dishes were quite good. A word of caution, be really careful if you have... food allergies or requirements at this particular restaurant. There was a disconnect between the front and back of the house andI was given dishes that contained an ingredient I can't eat. We caught once the food was on my fork. Read more

This is my second time eating here. The first time I had chicken and broccoli and fried rice. I stay safe the first time I eat... at a Chinese place. It was okay. Nothing special tbh. This time i ventured a bit. I got general tsos chicken and I got Hakkachili chicken. I also got the wings with tamarind sauce. The wings were fried wings. The dipping sauce was pretty good. That'swhere the good ended. The chicken in both dishes was rubbery. I spent 40 dollars on all this food. And the chicken is buffetquality. At least when I go to a buffet i know what im getting. This was 40 dollars and i can't even eat the majority of thisfood. The portions may be generous, but that doesn't make up for the rubber chicken in these dishes. It looks like im going tostick to the Orient. Its similarly priced and the food quality is far higher. Don't eat here. Read more

I found Teng's from a NYC halal food facebook group I'm in. It seemed very popular, so I brought my in-laws for dinner. It's... mostly aimed at takeout, and it was very busy when we came on New Years day. Despite that, our food came out pretty fast andwhat I really loved was that the family that runs the business seem like genuinely good people. The food was excellent, we gotcrispy beef, Hakka chilli chicken, udon noodles, fried rice, momo dumplings, and everything was really tasty. I think the hakkachicken was my personal favorite. We're very happy to have a high quality halal Chinese food option in the neighborhood, and Ihope Teng's continues to thrive. Read more

Very satisfied that there is finally an authentic Halal Chinese Restaurant on Long Island. Not only is it Chinese, they have... items on the menu that your usual Chinese place doesn't have. We had the Hakka Chilli Chicken which was very different on ourpalate. Took a minute to get the taste right away, but once it hit it was very pleasant. Beef and Broccoli was well portionedand we went home fully satisfied knowing that we don't have to travel all the way to Queens to have Halal Chinese. Read more

Hands down, I think the best halal hakka / Chinese restaurant on Long Island, NY. Since this was my first time ordering from... here, I wanted to try everything! So I definitely went overboard with my order, however, WORTH IT! I ordered chicken sweet cornsoup, steamed chicken dumplings, Sichuan chicken dumplings, hakka chicken wings, chicken fried rice, chicken hakka noodles,Chilli beef, and orange chicken. I honestly can't remember the last time I was so satisfied with a meal. Every single item wasincredible, fresh, and tasted amazing. We all wanted a legit halal Chinese place on Long Island, NY. Guess what? We got it. Thisis it. Sure, it's not your traditional Chinese, most dishes have a twist of hakka, however, there are plenty of dishes that aretraditional Chinese. And best part? You're not paying Long Island prices! All items were very fairly priced and comparable tothe prices of Fatima's Halal in Astoria, NY (currently closed) or Halal Kitchen in Maspeth, NY. Taste wise, I think this wasmuch better. If you want to compare this to other hakka Chinese places, I would think Sagar Chinese and New Chili and Currycome to mind. And in my honest opinion, this blows them out of the water. I am not even going to mention the 2 other halalChinese places that opened up on Long Island, as they definitely need to improve their quality and taste if they want to competewith Teng's. Quick overview of their food: - Chicken sweet corn soup: Perfectly seasoned and made. It tasted very fresh. Theyalso give you sauces on the side, if you want to spice it up. - Steamed chicken dumplings: So, I like the momos from MomoCrave. These momos are not like those. They are from a different region. So for Chinese dumplings, these are good. However, ifthere was one thing I felt that they could probably improve upon, it would probably have to be their dumplings, but again, theywere good, just not great as everything else was. - Sichuan chicken dumplings: My wife wasn't a huge Read more
