Beautiful! My husband, son and I went down there just to look at lakeview lots all around that area, including Tellico Village,... but once we arrived at WindRiver, that was it! Made an offer on a lot that same day! Plan to move from IL! Can't wait! Read more

Attended a wedding out on the point at the lake. It was a beautiful setting for a wedding. The drive in was probably 3+ miles... but they have out maps at the gate and the drive was nice following along the golf course on either side. The reception wasoutside on the clubhouse patio just outside the gate. Very nice setup for a reception also. Read more

Went to a sales meeting excited about the marina community. Very highly disorganized presentation did not know how many people... were coming for the space many people turned away. First I thought was a marketing firm backfired then I see our presenter is aevp of the company. He was one of most rude. If you can?t manage 2 drink tickets and a plate of roasted chicken I sure would notput $1m in a house on your land. Read more

Very nice community. But pricing and dues are very high. And while you can buy lake front property, you can not have a dock,... you have to rent a slip at the community marina. Read more

Beautiful well-designed, interesting and challenging golf course. Nice restaurant with good food and view of the lake. Homes... look spacious, perhaps too much so for folks looking to retire here. They have a gym, tennis courts, marina, hiking trails.Very nice community. Read more

A TOP DESTINATION RESTAURANT There's much to say about Citico's. The setting. The building housing the restaurant. The wait... staff. The wine program. The food, of course. The seriousness with which Joe Ayers, the developer of WindRiver Lakefront & GolfCommunity where Citico's resides, approaches the task of creating a fine dining restaurant. When Joe Ayers set about finding achef a couple years ago, he brought in 7 from around the U.S. to cook for him and the management staff at Citico's. One RobertAllen from Texas served fried brussels sprouts and pork belly deeply browned with sweet chili sauce that sealed the deal. Whenyou go --and you should-- order it. It's the chef's signature dish on the menu, as well it should be. Also, there are twocertified sommelliers here shepherding a couple hundred different wines from a cellar of some 2,000 bottles, one hired fromWashington state. Plus there's a new sous chef with a background at two different starred Michelin restaurants just in fromMiami, along with a general manager most recently from Ruth Chris Steak House in nearby Knoxville. This restaurant is in thesweepingly beautiful WindRiver community on Tellico Lake. Some tables in the restaurant have a sunset lake view in thisantique-filled mansion that serves as home to Citico's. The wait staff is solid and earnestly aims to please. Chef Allen checksin with guests at their table in a genuine old world way after dinner, which surely should consist of some of the following . .. -fritto misto: macadamia crusted shrimp, calamari & oysters -house salad: mixed greens, candied Benton?s bacon, pecans, limabeans, smoked blue cheese and blueberry balsamic -grilled romaine: with feta cheese, kalamata olives, cucumber, tomato, pickledonion, roasted garlic and herb vinaigrette -prime N.Y. strip: very large portion of steak with spectacularly delicliciousdauphine potatoes (crisp potato puffs of mashed potatoes with savoury choux pastry, with the mixture formed into Read more
