This is their MOST AMAZING Chicago style pizza EVER! Authentic and beyond your expectations. We drive an Hr 1/2 to get this... pizza. The other one is in Chicago. They bake the bread fresh every day and everything served here is just wonderful. The ownerand staff are the BEST!! Stopped in Lenoir for the night on our way back to Charlotte with my parents from New Zealand and discovered this AWESOME place!... It's such a unique and interesting restaurant. The food is authentic and delicious and the margarita pizza was the best we'veever had! The owner is so friendly and took time to chat with us. I need everyone to understand the EXTRAORDINARY experience our family had here? It was a late night on a Thursday evening of... driving after work from Charlotte to Boone. We were hungry and tired - and Piccolo?s was our saving grace. YA?LL, this is byfar the most DELICIOUS deep dish pizza we?ve ever had!! It was baked so thoughtfully, loaded with flavor, fresh ingredients-melted in our mouths. My boyfriend is from New York and LOVED this pizza (don?t tell him I told you!) And don?t get me startedon the people, all so so sweet and thoughtful. The owner makes you feel like family, and you?re welcomed home. This is thefirst night we?re visiting the college our daughter will be moving to in a few short weeks, and what started as a defeatingevening ended with smiles, laughter, full bellies, delicious food, and happy memories. Let me just tell you the Italian food is just as authentic as the owner himself . Very few times you come across a restaurant... that has great food and makes you feel like part of the family when you are there . This was my first visit to Piccolo?s. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by about 4 different people! That?s a big deal! One... was named Brenda! I thought that was awesome. You don?t meet people with your name very often. They had just opened and everyonewas very up beat and in a great mood! Also a big deal! The food is great! A bigger deal! An Italian man that I assumed was theowner was very friendly and spoke with all of the customers! He even took pictures for an older couple for a souvenir. They weretraveling. The seating area is full of old memorabilia. From gas pumps, little cars, statues of the blues brother, to the backof a tractor trailer used as a table to hold the drink machine.
