I've had a lot of pizza in my day. Maybe too much pizza, especially if you talk to my doctor. But if there's one place that I'll... drive through a snowstorm to get to, or book my flights an extra hour earlier so I can stop in and get a pie, it's Turnabout. Idon't know how any pizza shop exists within a twenty mile radius of this place. No nonsense, no frills, only great eats atTurnabout. You walk in and you're at the counter, the menu is right above you so you can't miss it. They have pizza boxes toshow you the size of the pizzas you're ordering. These guys don't mess around. It doesn't matter what type of pizza you order,with whatever toppings you want, it's going to be life changing. You're going to take a bite and be transported through time andspace to a realm of bliss and satisfaction. I've lived in Chicago all of my life and if you think this is good pizza either you don't know what good pizza is or you're just... settling. I invested in a rubbermaid pizza delivery bag from Amazon, take a short drive into the city, and I'm neverdisappointed. Also, the older woman who runs Turnabout doesn't appreciate customer loyalty because my son got a big eye rollwhen he presented his 20 saved coupons that entitled him to a free large pizza with one topping. I am DONE DONE DONE with this place ! How do you mess up not 1 not 2 but 3 pizzas in a row on three separate occasions? I?ll... say one thing, they are consistent. The crust was so nasty with no substance you couldn?t even pick it up to eat it. Sodisgusting it went right in the garage. Tavern - style pizza is correct, because you?d have to be drunk to eat it ! We used to get Turnabout when I played in the brass quintet at Cog Hill when I was in high school. Every else was eating country... club food and on our break we'd wolf down greasy pizza, and it was amazing. Stopped in for a slice today and it's exactly like Iremember. Read more
