Got the fried plantain sampler cause I couldn?t decide and it was incredible. The slaw on the plantains is hot in the best... possible way. The oxtail and black rice is also incredible and all so flavorful. Will be coming here anytime I?m in town for nowon. Read more

We had never had this type of food before and my husband is sort of picky. He really liked it, as did I. We had a very large... order for take out without calling ahead because we originally planned on eating in, but we had 9 people and it is a prettysmall space. We had to wait a bit which was totally fine and to be expected. The staff was very helpful in making our choicesand even let us taste some things first. The portions were generous. The food was amazing. My children played with the cookschildren while we waited. By the time we left we felt like we had just visited family. We highly recommend it. Read more

Once I tried Jacmel?s griot, I knew I had to write a review BUT I couldn?t post it until I did the food Justice and today is... that day. This place is amazing. About a year ago, it was a mediocre Jamaican place but once they changed owners, this place gotso much better. They?re griot meat is top notch. The fatty pieces are succulent and deserving of praise. They?re black rice isamazingly seasoned and their plantains just rock my world. Everything screams decadent. Well worth the 5 stars. You?ll regretnot coming here, I promise Now, here are the photos Read more

All the food was delicious. It's hard to get my mom to say any food is good and she acknowledged the food was good. The Griot... stuffed plantains are to die for we got an order of pork and and another of beef. You won't be disappointed by picking either. Ihad the Griot with Mixed Rice. The amount of food looked average, but it was massive. The pikliz is what I like the most, a nicekick of habanero but not a burning kind of spicy. The service was great. The gentlemen who attended to us was attentive andvery kind. Read more

Absolutely magnificent (very) hidden gem of a restaurant. No sign is visible from the road, so you're going to need to trust... that your GPS has brought you to the correct place and keep an eye out for the Jamaican and Haitian flags that mark theentrance, which is tucked away deep in the far right corner of a nondescript strip mall. It is well worth the hunt, because onceyou are there you will be treated to welcoming Caribbean hospitality and the finest island-style cooking I have ever had thepleasure to eat. What I tried: * Fall-off-the-bone tender stewed chicken ? spiced to perfection and served with a medley oflightly carmelised veggies in a rich and complex broth that wouldn't be out of place on a world-class michelin-starred plate. *Black bean sauce that is served as an accompaniment to their expertly-cooked white rice. It's rich, peppery, and frankly ? tastyenough to drink straight from the spoon as a soup. * Stuffed plantain appetizer. Meat and cabbage stuffed crispy-fried bits ofheaven. A spicy citrus sauce cuts the fat from the frying oil and the meat and balances the flavors beautifully. I tried porkand the beef version, and have a slight preference for the pork as it was just a bit juicer. All in all, I can't say enough tosing Jacmel's praises. For a new restaurant, it certainly seems like whoever they have in the kitchen knows EXACTLY what theyare doing. I live in Fort Myers and plan to ride back out into Lehigh sometime in the near future specifically to eat at thisrestaurant again. Read more
