Reviews for Ramen Yama in Lehi, UT
Maybe an off day, but did not satisfy. Ordered Shoyu Ramen, Chashu Don and Curry Croquette and they were okay, but overall... lacking. I'll start with the ramen. The broth was lacking in flavor and tasted predominantly of ginger and green onion to me. As a shoyu ramen, it did not have the identifiable soy sauce flavor that I expect underlying the broth, almost like we receivedthe pork broth base without the adjustments that make each ramen unique. The slices of roasted pork on top were heavilyovercooked. Tough, dry and not particularly flavorful. Take a look at my attached picture, you can visually identify thetexture of the pork. The Chashu Don was decent. It is on the menu as a "mini donburi" and I think that's a creative way to saythat it's like a nice snack. Just some pork on white rice and a drizzle of sauce. The kind of thing you would slap together athome with leftovers. Nothing really wrong with that concept at the reduced price, but it was surprisingly... snacky. Theproblem with it was that it was also heavily overcooked pork, and the sauce had a kick to it that I didn't expect, and my sonwas not pleased with. It would be nice to know that there was some heat in the menu listing. Finally the Curry Croquette. This one was pretty good. It's a nice appetizer with mild curry flavors in a fried patty of mashed potatoes. I wouldabsolutely order it again, but as a side dish it isn't enough to save the experience, and since the focus of a ramen order isthe ramen, I don't think the sub $10 price for the shoyu ramen is enough to balance the lack of flavor. All the food I've tried has been fantastic (tonkotsu ramen, chicken karrage, and Japanese style fries). The staff have been... friendly and helpful. Atmosphere is fun, clean, and modern. There's nothing out of this world about it (the reason for fourstars), but I'd recommend it if you're looking for some great ramen. Read more

The taste was good, but not great. Overpriced for what you get. Only two very thin sliced pieces of Pork on the Ramen. Ramen... dishes are roughly $11 for mostly noodles and broth. Read more
Hey so I?m Japanese and my wife is from the homeland so my review means more. The place was pretty clean and played great k-pop... music as is normal in a Japanese ramen shop. The service was good and the place was clean. The food didn?t come out that fastbut I don?t mind that. I assume they made it on the spot. The place looks super hip so it?d be good for a date too. I've eaten here twice, and have had the spicy miso and tonkatsu ramen and the chicken karaage. The broth is semi-complex and... pretty tasty. The chicken was really good. The service was very fast and friendly as well. Recommended over SOBO's ramen, whichis in the same area. Read more
Good selection of ramens at a decent price. I had a black garlic pork bowl that tasted decent considering the cost and the fact... that this is a ramen shop in Utah. The broth and ratio of noodles to everything else was a bit disappointing, but for $10 it'sperfectly fine. I would've given 4 stars if I didn't have abrupt diarrhea force me to take an exit down the road. It was about25 minutes after I ate the ramen bowl here so I'm fairly sure that is what caused it. Maybe my stomach was weak that day, maybeit was a random bad bowl, who knows. Pity the 7-11 gas station bathroom that had to accommodate the second part of my meal. Read more
I had a really great meal here. We went in the late afternoon and the owner was there to greet us, suggest menu items and then... get the food out quickly. We had the tonkatsu and the black garlic ramen. Both were fantastic! The owner checked on us acouple of times to make sure we had everything we needed. It was the perfect level of attention without being over bearing.Would definitely recommend. Read more
