The history provided by the museum was truly incredibly informative. However, the very first room, the first section of the... exhibit needs to be updated. The interactive screens and the narration is so old that I just couldn't stand it. In addition, thepictures with all the elders and sports teams are super old as well, why? This includes the short videos through out theexhibit. It's all late 80's, early 90's. It gives off the impression that nothing has happened since the images were taken as itpertains to the elders, sports, etc. That first section definitely needs to be modernized as soon as possible. I was certaintyexpecting much more in that first section. Disinfecting wipes were not available for the audio tour, and the gift shop did notcontain anything interesting gift items. Lastly, the following piece of information was completely absent. Founded in 1565, ANDVERY IMPORTANT, St. Augustine Florida is the oldest continuously occupied settlement of Spanish and African-American origin inthe United States. Forty-two years before the English colonized Jamestown and fifty-five years before the Pilgrims landed atPlymouth Rock. Why is this information excluded on the wall? Read more

We started our 21 year reunion by touring this museum with Josh as our guide. It was the perfect kickoff to an amazing weekend.... We learned about the Peqout tribe and culture which gave us a great appreciation for our travel destination. Really enjoyed this museum! Larger than I was anticipating and so much detail! I enjoyed learning about this tribe. I think... more people should come to see the amazing facility that has been built here. Also, I think people would be shocked if they alsoknew (or read in that small area) how much this tribe does give back to others. Thank you for sharing! Read more

This museum is really beautiful. I drove up from Brooklyn, NY and it was worth the drive. They really made a huge effort to... reproduce everything in the museum as life like as possible. The reproduced village is the highlight with scenes representingthe different aspects of their life. You definitely need to take the tour as they exclaim everything there. Tip: Call ahead andfind out what times they are. I will be back another time for the pow wow and to explore more. Suggestion to the folks livingon the reserve: it would be a very nice for visitors to be able to experience the food and culture as well. Read more

Came here on a Wednesday and there was barely anyone there! Gave me the perfect chance to enjoy all the exhibits and... informational history that is right here in our backyard. Great displays and depictions of what life would have looked like.Very primitive and realistic just like I remember when I visited as I child. The only downfall was the observation tower wasbroken, the escalator that brings you to the glacier exhibits was out of order and the store didn?t have replica wampum like Iremember. Takes away from the experience in my opinion Read more

This museum covers the wide range of the Mashantucket Pequot civilization?s existence, from pre-history to modern times. Much of... the exhibition focuses on how nature shaped the people and culture, such as by making some resources more plentiful, and othersscarcer. There are authentic artifacts about the civilization, and an interactive model depicting the Mashantucket Valley withcurrent and projected development. There is an exhibit relating to the nearby gaming industry, which is fitting since saidindustry is what paid for this whole museum. Read more
