If you are along this stretch of Route 66 give this place a try. We both ordered the 4 piece catfish meal. They serve generous... helpings. I see some reviews that the beans were too salty. We don?t eat salt, so I would have to agree, so just be aware. Theymay be fine for salt eaters. The service was extremely quick, the server extremely friendly, and the food piping hot. In short, the quality of fish has gone down and the prices have gone up. Paid $20 for fish to go and was absolutely... disappointed. Most pieces were nothing but crunchy with no fish. Angry and feel swindled. The pinto beans were so salty wecouldn't eat them. I do not know what is happening at this restaurant. We use to look forward to buying fish from Dowds ....People this is not a "Award winning catfish" as their billboard touts. This is a cheap substitution. Read more
Very clean, pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff. Came for a late lunch/early dinner on a Sunday. Business picked up a bit after... that, but it never got crowded or noisy. Food came quickly and everything was correct on each order. Staff was friendly andattentive without being overbearing. Hush puppies, okra, and catfish had great flavors. Fried pickles were a nice start to themeal. There's nothing we were served that we didn't eat. I'd stop in again if I was in the area. Several of the desserts soundedgreat, we just didn't have any room. Read more
