This a nice place to spend time at. Lots of restaurants, and outside activities (concert, ...). During busy hours, it can be... hard to find parking close by. The restaurant was great. The decor and atmosphere were excellent. We went there for dinner andwere seated right away (we did make a reservation). The food looked and tasted great. Our server was very friendly and did agreat job. My only negative comment is that it took quite a while to start getting our meal after ordering. However the placewas packed so that probably didn't help. Read more

Food flavor is good but not that much difference from other Thai restaurant in town. However, the ambient is great! This is... definitely a place for nice celebration or business dinner. A bit high price but can be compensated with atmosphere. Read more

I visited a couple of days ago for the first time and I can’t wait to return. To say the customer service was great is simply... an understatement. Alisa our server was so kind, patient, and performed above and beyond her duties. The food and drinks werevery appetizing and the presentation was beautiful. The restaurant has great energy and is very appealing to the eye. To top itall off, the manager Skye stopped by our table to ensure that our experience was a good one and it was. I definitely rate thisestablishment a 10/10. It was well worth my time and money. Read more

We had a lot of fun checking out this new restaurant just in time for patio season! It was extremely hot and stuffy on the... second floor where the Bamboo Room is. More fans could’ve been utilized as there were zip in our corner or at least have theair condition on even though the windows were open. It happened to be a very sunny/muggy day. the roof is retractable but wewere not offered relief with that nor did we ask. Pulling it in bed is would’ve helped a lot esp since it was just us overthere. We were in time for happy hour, 4p-6p, when the restaurant first opens. When I was asking about drinks, the particularone I wanted was not on the new menu. I was told about another kind. however I should’ve been told about the happy hourdrinks first because I would’ve picked one of those before paying the extra money for the margarita that I received. Itwasn’t that good for $12. Since I had looked online first I knew to ask what were the happy hour bites and drinks specials. It was not something that was mentioned or offered to us as it should have been. The crab Rangoon was delicious. The small biteswere all five dollars. My friend got an almond milk chicken soup that was amazing! Unfortunately the waitress threw her napkininto her soup before asking if she was finished and that ruined her eating the rest of it ;(. The music was OK if I canremember correctly. The bathrooms downstairs were dirty and definitely needed attention especially for just opening. It was niceto have an elevator to go up since I am still wearing a boot from surgery. However if you’re a fitness buff there are plentyof stairs you can run up to get to the bamboo room. It was a nice place to experience once but I don’t feel we would go backagain unless some things are changed. Because of the things I mentioned that is why I gave it a four out of five. The hibiscusroyale was the best drink I had which included an edible flower which was even better than the drink itself! That drink is Read more

So, I was looking for a restaurant to go to in Leawood with my friend and this place had great reviews and the menu looked... pretty appealing. We sat outside since it was so nice out and I have to say this has been one of the best experiences I've hadin a long time. There is a fire pit outside with seating and the bar is open to the outside. Customer service was top notch, thefood was fresh, hot and delicious and the food presentation was elegant which is something I dont see here in KC. The food waslayed out on beautiful plates and it was fresh. It's hard to go to restaurants in KC and order a dish with rice because you cantell the rice is old and heated up but with this place thats not the case. Bamboo Pennys is great and I will definitely be back. Read more

Wow....if you like Thai, your gonna LOVE this place. This place is an ELEVANTED version of a typical Thai restaurant. Great... way to discovered new and unique places to eat during KC Restaurant Week. This place has been here for only about 6 months(visited last week In January) but a really hidden sleeper of a place. Well worth the money, but not that much higher then atraditional Thai place honestly for the amazing quality. So glad I was able to experience this place with my longtime friend, was a real treat! Definitely get a reservation for dinner. The restaurant filled up right after 5:30 on a Wednesday evening. Got seated at an... extremely small table on the end that my wife and I barely fit in, knees kept knocking against each other. The hostess failed toinform our waitress she'd added us to her section, so had to wait for water and to order. But once she figured it out servicewas excellent and food delivered quickly. Food was VERY good. Tom Yum soup and dumplings to start, then Pad Thai and GarlicShrimp for the main meal. Spice level was appropriate for what we ordered, flavors were fresh and presentation appetizing. Weplan on being back! Read more
