Just OK is how I would describe our experience. Our sever was friendly but the food fell short of being anything more than just... OK. Onion rings seemed to be frozen from the bag type and were disappointing. The burger was again ok but not great. It seemsthey are still trying to get settled in their new location as the restaurant had a mix of left over furniture from the previousMexican food restaurant that occupied the location and a mix of diner style tables and chairs. For now I think there are moreappealing restaurant options in the area. But once they get fully settled and freshen up the look of the restaurant it may beworth another look. I think I will give it 3-6 months before going back however. Our server solicited our thoughts on ourexperience after we had finished our meal and gave me the impression they were listening to their customers and trying toimprove. I really hope they do. It was okay. Our server was nice. I don't like that I can't just order the burger now that I have to get the combo and pay a... higher price. It's a waste of my money and my food. The cedar park location was way better. I prefer the counter walk upstyle. Update Since I can't respond to the reply... I did specifically ask for just the burger and they waitress said it wasthe same cost regardless. Read more
Love the Anderson Mill location so was excited this one was so close in Leander. Ordered takeout and while ready quickly, was... disappointed with the quality. The amount of sweet potato fries that came with one burger was ridiculously light, a full sideorder of onion rings came with very few as well. Bacon cheeseburger had no lettuce, I a1sked to add mustard and cut in half...neither happened. For the price, this order was simply not worth it. Hoping dining in will be a better experience. It has potential?I think!! I was really torn about writing this review or not solely because the waitress I had two of the... three times I went was AMAZING! I must also note that I had received coupons in the mail which brought me in as well - Iwouldn?t have given it two more chances after the first visit if it wasn?t for the coupons. The positive of my first visit wasthe waitress was extremely friendly, sweet, and checked on us through out my visit. Fries were delicious! Chicken tenders forthe kids meal were fresh and tender. The negative of this first visit was the burger was dry (western burger) and slightly overcooked. I would still rate this first visit a solid 3 just because the waitress made it worth it! Which brings me to my secondvisit. Ordered the bacon burger and the patty was delicious and perfectly cooked. The bacon, however, (see photo) was absolutelydisgusting & ruined the juicy perfect ?could?ve been? burger. The bacon was burnt - not crispy - BURNT! Nasty. The waiter wasdecent. He was friendly enough. Chicken strips were , once again, fresh and hot for the kids meal. This second visit would get atwo star rating solely due to the burnt gross bacon that ruined such a beautiful burger. *cry* Third visit. I didn?t want togive up because I really liked the other Moonie, but? this sadly might?ve been the last visit. Had the same waitress as thefirst visit and she?s incredible! A sweetheart. She also seems very comfortable being a waitress unlike some of the youngerones, but that?s no problem in itself. Ordered a regular hamburger this time. There was a long strand of hair on the patty ofthe burger *cry* !! I was so bummed. I know things like this happen, but after the last two visits and really wanting this placeto redeem itself - I couldn?t feel more bummed *cry some more*. Super sad and disappointed as we used to love Moonies. No one was there to greet us when we walked in. In fact for the majority... of the visit the three that were on the clock were in the kitchen. Waitstaff not pleasant or welcoming. Ordered a cheeseburgerw onion rings. No cheese and 4, yup four onion rings. I also asked for a side salad. Had to ask for silverware. When I returnedthe burger and asked for cheese the wait person stared at the burger, finally took it back to the kitchen, and when she broughtit back she didn?t say a word and just put it on the table in front of us. Onion rings are clearly frozen from a bag, which isnot what I remember. Definitely not coming back to this location. Read more
Happy to see the location has found a new home. I always enjoy moonies, always have I am however on the fence about a sit down... and serve location. The Menus are limited compared to what they used to have, but it might just be due to just opening. Thisis an old Mexican food location and not much has changed as far as appearance. The food however is excellent as always. Theburgers never disappoint and their fries are always a delight, crispy and hot. The Chilli cheese fries were a littledisappointing as the switched to nacho cheese ???? as opposed to the classic shredded cheddar they used to top it with. Thechicken Salad was excellent, fresh and tangy with the dressing. The gluten free bun and veggie burger were also reallydelicious. All in all it was a great experience, a little more expensive than previously but that's inflation for ya, the decoris very sparse and it still feels like a Mexican restaurant, the parking entry is tricky turn down the street and pull in unlessyou have a truck it's a curb not a driveway in the front.
