Food was very good, very tasty. The shrimp and fajitas were cooked perfectly. They sang to my friend on his birthday. Chips and... salsa were some of the best. I was actually on my way from my girl's place and I happen to get a flat tire. So I ended up at firestone which is 2 blocks away... from this restaurant. So my girl and her family treated me to this place. Beautiful ambiance & great service. I ordered theNachos Tampico. I didn't realize how big the plate was, Huge Nacho plate w/ Sliced jalapeños, sour cream, Pico de Gallo, guacamole, & refired beans. Only order that, if your starving, otherwise I left a lot of chips on my plate. But for the mostpart, I ate all the toppings. Definitely hopefully will be back again. ???? Read more

This cantina has excellent food and salsa. Real cheese. It is rare these days in Mexican restaurants; real cheese makes all the... difference. Okay, sure, cheddar cheese is TexMex, and in more authentic Mexican restaurants, it would be queso blanco, butwhat's the obsession with process cheese in almost all Mexican restaurants? I've looked hard to find a cantina restaurant ofthis quality. It's a pretty far drive from Baytown, but I've heard a rumor that I may not have to drive very far soon... Forgetthe restaurants that overcharge and put more into decor than food. It's all right here at Red River... the best atmosphere,decor, and quality food in one location. Thank goodness. If Pappasitos and Gringos had a baby, this is it. Pretty much EVERYTHING is a copy-cat derivative of these two local favorites,... from the menu, to the building layout and vibe. However, what Red River lacks in originality, they make up for in execution. Wewere pleasantly surprised by the queso Blanco, the beef nachos, cheese enchilada mix plate and the beef fajitas! Protip: theirdefault beef fajitas come out medium rare. I recommend fajitas at well done to get that char in the flavor profile. I know, Iknow....but, this is flank steak, not the best cut. Read more
The waitress was awesome, the food was good. The restaurant is better than some, not as good as others. It's a beautiful... restaurant, they've taken a lot of care and consideration in building it. The margaritas were good but not as good as San L's.The beans were good. I ordered the cheese enchiladas, again I've had better I've had worse. All in all, it's a nice change, butit wouldn't be my regular spot. I've been going to Red River barbecue (same owners) for 20 years. It's beautiful and theatmosphere is great, the wait staff is great... if you're looking for a good time out try it! I look at things with thecritical eye. I was in the business for 15 years.
