Oh wow! Dayamn! Bang! Ka-posh-oww! We ate Fried Catfish, Mac N Chez, and the Collard Greens are all Bangin! The Catfish is... flavorful and fried to perfection! They have a CheeseBurger that is amazing. Always clean and the staff are pleasant to whereyou want to go back. They forgot my extra side of Mac n Cheese & bread but that won't stop me from returning. Next time we haveto try the Ribs. But you won't be disappointed here... Definitely worth trying if you're not wanting to cook dinner. Plates are$12 plus, but moderately priced considering it is Soul Food. My soul took a nap from a delightful meal. Read more
I normally don?t like BBQ because it?s dry, but not at Mak & Jack?s. Their BBQ is tender and juicy. You can tell the cook knows... what he?s doing. Prices are a little high, but the food is very good. Read more
Let's talk about the food first... Top notch!!!! This had to be the best brisket I have ever tasted, and I have tasted plenty.... On top of that, the ribs fell right off the bone... They were amazing as well. I didn't even use the sauce, even though I diddip my fried Okra in it. I highly recommend the fried Okra as a side. Now, let's talk about intangibles... Friendly, familyoriented atmosphere. The Chef was awesome, and it was nice to meet some of his family as well. I felt like I was eating athome... Even better, I felt like I was eating at home with an award winning bbq chef in the kitchen. 10 out of 10, highlyrecommend this restaurant. I got the combo with ribs and pulled pork. The ribs were really good. The pulled pork was good. Collard greens were delicious.... Sweet potato?s had a special ginger kick to it. I will try the steak and cheese next time. It seems to be a big seller there. Read more

This was our third time ordering from Mak and Jack?s because our first two experiences were so great. The food was delicious... each time that we even recommended to family and friends. However, last night?s experience was unfortunately much different. Tostart we entered the restaurant to pick up our food after a placing an online order. We weren?t greeted by any of the employeesand as we waited directly in front of the pick up area, unbeknownst to us, our food was ready and waiting but we did not knowbecause the server never called out our name, asked how we could be helped, or anything. It took me noticing that the ticket hadmy name on it and asking for our food. That part we could overlook, but the quality of the food we had last night was not thefood we had ordered to feed 40 people just last month. We ordered the brisket plate with mac n? cheese and onion rings, 4 lemonpepper smoked wings, and a smash burger with fries. And the only thing we could say was good were the onion rings. They left outthe sauce for the brisket, the mac n? cheese and fries tasted like they were left over from the day before.
