This is a hidden gem in Kansas. As many times I have gone to Lawrence just to eat, I do not know how I missed this place. We... were greeted by ?J? He was the best. The atmosphere was relaxing yet energizing. The Difficult Daughter with the lime was beyondgood. It? an excellent fall drink. And the tuna Nachos were off the chain. We also had firecracker shrimp which was equally goodand these were just appetizers. We never mad it to the main meal. If you like bitter spirits, then Love Grows cocktail is nice.It shows that the GM pays attention to detail. There were real cut flowers on the tables and in the bathroom. Outdoor seatingoptions are also available. The menu changes with the season I believe. I post a menu for you to see what they have currently. We will differently return! Read more

LOVED this place. The food was fresh and delicious. We ate outside which had a great vibe all its own. Isis, our server was... outstanding! We chatted briefly with the manager/coowner Laura Klein who was delightful and genuinely seems to want allcustomers to have an amazing experience. The ahi tuna nachos are incredible! We had oysters, crab legs, Brussels sprouts andsplit the paella. Yum yum yum! Happy hour specials even on Saturday were varied on both the food and drink menu. We willabsolutely visit Mass St Fish House again!! And recommend you give them a try! PS. the coffee after dinner was Yum! Read more

Food was delicious! It?s worth the higher price, the quality is unbeatable. Surprisingly, the fries were the best I?ve had in... Lawrence which I didn?t expect at all. I had the fish and chips as carry out and everything was hot and crispy when I got ithome. The dipping sauce for the shrimp was great. No complaints here! Read more

Hadn?t been to this place in several years, but decided to have dinner there. We were very pleasantly surprised? The menu seems... to have matured considerably since our last visit? We ate two different excellent pastas, not to mention raw oysters and theroasted chilies. Perhaps the only thing that wasn?t completely fascinating was the fish taco, but everything else was so goodthat I am happy to give this a rare five star rating. Read more

Really excellent. We're new to Lawrence, visiting for the first time, and frankly we did not expect to find great seafood in... what may be the city as far from any ocean as there is in the US. But wow. We went twice in two days. The paella was excellent. The crab cakes, creatively delicious. My wife had the arctic char and said it was out of this world. And try the roastedbrussels sprouts to start -- excellent. We will definitely be back. When we're back. Read more

Definitely the value here is a great dining experience and exceptional sea food - it clearly justifies the expensive over other... spots. Factors we consider when choosing where to dine for fresh fish include mercury levels and the water the fish is sourcedfrom. Health choices seem to matter to the owners and buyers at Mass St. Fish House & Raw Bar in Lawrence, Kansas. Mostimportantly, the seafood was superb. Our waitress was very friendly, professional and helpful with making menu selections. Hegave great wind recommendations, like the Mussels and Toast appetizer and the Low Tide Fish Platter, which was ample for the twoof us. The Mussels and Toast was a stunning blend of white wine, fennel and tomato broth for the sauce. Our waiter also was veryknowledgeable about the the restaurant, town and historic street; we really appreciated our conversation with him. It offers awonderful dining experience as well for conversations. The background jazz music was not too loud nor too soft; and we loved thesong selections. A total gem for exquisite, culinary-level seafood that's fresh, unique and prepared so well! The cocktailswere equally fun. I ordered the ?Cap and Gown?, a special since this is graduation time for many students. It was made fromAperol, Campo Viejo sparkling Rose, and their very own house-made Orange Oleo-Saccharum. It is one of the best drinks that I?veever order out. My dining partner took a sip and then ordered one, too. I highly recommend their happy hour specials andawesome outdoor patio seating. I don?t recall the name of our chocolate dessert ? but it was just as tasty and unique. We hadno problem finding parking and so enjoyed walking the street after dining. Next time we are traveling near Lawrence, Kansas wedefinitely plan to return! The service, ambiance, and price is well worth it! Read more
