Situated in the previous Papa Keno's Pizza location next to the friendship park and Watkins Museum, this building has a lot of... charm. The food is fresh and fantastic. There are plenty of selections to choose from with mix and match options forsandwiches. Hearty bread and generous servings with their sandwhiches and sides make for a great meal. Amazing experience in this place! I had a veggie sandwich + ham & pimento cheese it was delicious. Very fresh and natural... ingredients yet savory with the dressings or seasoning that they put in. It had avocado, beets, lettuce, tomato, onion, pestoand my extra addition of ham and pimento cheese. I had pasta salad for my side, it was perfect. Not too mayonissy, with somecrunchy celery and cherry tomatoes. Husband had the Reuben sandwich, delicious classic flavor. The bread was toasty and soft.He had tomato soup, it had a homemade taste. I highly recommend this restaurant. I have dined in numerous times. The owner operates are very sociable and engaging. The... cuisine is stellar. Reuben sandwich, tomato soup with a pickle and horseradish is my go to and has never lead me astray. Thecheese is deliciously melted, sauerkraut freshly pickled, and the corned beef seared to perfection. The Italian sodas are ahighly recommended add on. Read more
Such an amazing restaurant. I went with my mom, friends, and partner, and we each had something different. Every. Single. Thing.... Was. Incredible. So fresh, so flavorful! A worthy addition to beloved Lawrence, Kansas! They also gave us Italian cream sodas onthe house, which was unexpected, but such a lovely touch. Try everything and anything. Pretty good. The food includes really fresh meat. I think they?re smoking some of it themselves. We had a few sandwiches and... also bought some sliced meat for sandwiches at home. At first we were a little hesitant about the prices but it was well worthit. Also you can buy half sandwiches which is on the online menu but we didn?t see it on the paper menu at the store.Nevertheless, great food. Holy wow! ???? I?d heard people raving about the veggie sandwich as a meat-free option so I had to check it out for myself and... it really exceeded all my expectations! The savory beet pastrami with the creamy avocado + pesto on warm, soft, toast bread is amatch made in heaven. I got the pasta salad as my side and, seriously, so delicious!
