Reviews for La Taverne in Laval, QC

My wife had a dozen raw oysters, and I went with 12 wings with bourbon sauce. Both were tasty and well presented. 1 suggestion... for the owner: a finger bowl or wet-wipes to accompany the wings would be much appreciated. The wings are well sauced - but notover sauced- and napkins can't quite do the job. Next to La Taverne is a micro brewery beer store. The beer selection of therestaurant is somewhat limited. If the laws of Quebc allow it, adding a selection of Quebec micro brewery selections in LaTavere would really enhance the offering. I have to say that this place was a bit of a big disappointment....let's just say that the food edible cause I was starving...I... had the burger (the 1 choice)...the bun came out of the bag, not heated or toasted, the patty was a burnt dried up piece ofmeat, no toppings except for a slice of some kind of cheese and no taste all for 22$....but the worst part of the evening wasthat all 15 people came to the conclusion that the booze is definitely watered down.... seriously I'm not saying to be mean orsarcastic but we were there for a bday party and we all ordered different drinks and especially the shooters...just terriblewhen your tequila and Jack Daniels don't taste like it... The place itself has a good ambiance, the service was acceptable butthey are friendly...the music was good, too loud for their sound system so it sounded a bit distorted...but we still hadfun.... Was a bad experience, even the room was almost empty, the service was a mess, my hamburger burned, my fries cold, my appetizer... after my principal plate, the waiter place my plate in some other tables before than mine. I don't recommend. was a fulldeception! Read more

Photos of the food look good online, but portions are small and food is tasteless and bland. We ordered the short ribs and steak... ,the waiter came back 10 min later to advise that both our meals were not available, we had to pick something else. (how do urun out of $99 steaks on a Sat ?)ordered the flank steak, which was terrible , no salt or pepper on the table either, so youcant add to this bland taste. overall , not worth the price we paid....actually, even half the price would still not be worthit. we left early and went to have coffee and desert elsewhere. The waiter was unfortunately too busy taking shooters and selfies with his friends at the bar. He forgot to bring us some stuff... and we had to wait forever to get greeted and we could even hear the kitchen folks ringing the bell a few times because ourorder was waiting in the kitchen. We understand the staff shortages, it's unfortunate that our wait was due to the waiter. Foodis not bad and the place is very nice. We're definitely not going back. I celebrated my birthday in that restaurant. This restaurant is placed in the carrefour laval but has his own entrance from... outside. Very well decorated. The employee are so nice, very good service we had. All my friends were happy with the food.Everything was delicious. All was clean and perfectly served. A place to go! Read more

Service was very slow and server kept forgetting to bring us items on our order, felt very pushed to order more (you feel like... they want you put of there fast), the food is not bad, entries are pretty big, vegetarian options and some vegan. $$ Nice restaurant with 1$ champagne glass or 2$ for premium ????. You need to buy food and I think it's only on Thursday but... it's a nice concept The place is beautiful and the ambiance and music is really nice would recommande for a date or a smalltalk The food was really good and the plate or pretty good was really full the short rib is huge so if youre a carnivore wouldrecommande.
