We hiked to The Bluffs from the Doughton Park campground on the Bluff Mtn trail. It was a gentle up and down through forests and... meadows and just long enough to work up an appetite. Reservations are highly recommended as it is a busy place. I thought thepecan crusted trout was delicious. My husband was craving fried chicken and cornbread and said it was very good. The buildingwas recently remodeled preserving the woodwork, using original fixtures, and old photographs. You feel immersed in the history. We highly recommend and will be going back. Read more
I am very conflicted about this place. The wait to get in followed by the wait to place an order and then the wait to get the... order was incredibly long. From my arrival to beginning to eat was at least an hour and a half. On the other hand the food wasvery good. I would definitely try the fried chicken and the chicken pot pie again. What this place really needs is an efficiencyexpert to improve their operation. There appear to be enough staff there but their operation is terrible. Read more
Love this place! The food and ambience we're awesome! I had the chicken salad sandwich and my family had the Reuben and the BLT... with fried green tomatoes. Everything was fantastic. The chicken salad sandwich had walnuts and Red grapes infused which wasdelicious. They had great music playing as well. What a great find on the Blue ridge parkway! A true gem!! I will definitelyrecommend to friends and family and I will definitely be returning when I'm back in the area. After our hike its was a great wayto finish the day!! Read more
Oh my gosh - absolutely my favorite place to eat on the parkway and I've eaten at the Pisgah Inn and at Peak of Otter Lodge. The... vibe is fantastic, the employees are fun (and I really liked the music they played too.) I sat at the bar and had a beer and theshrimp and grits and it was amazing. I'd come back here any time I got the chance! Read more

My family and I dined here on October 22 for lunch, and while it was amazing food, the wait was *long*. All of the employees... were super considerate and checked in frequently, and the restaurant did leave a note at the front door that they were shortstaffed. Not a problem for us, but if you?re impatient, don?t go here at peak lunch hours. We arrived at 12:40pm and were sat at1:50. There is no wait seating?my dad has a prosthetic leg and relies on a cane, and standing nearly an hour and a half wasrough for him. Like I said, employees were doing their best though. Food-wise, this place was phenomenal. Between us, we got atriple decker club (best club I?ve had in NC, bacon was PERFECT), chicken tenders (pretty good), a burger (very greasy but mysister assured me it was delicious), and a BLT (amazing). They also had art and things for sale, and it?s a great rest stop ifyou need to use the bathroom or want to buy a little souvenir (the souvenir shop is right beside the restaurant). Read more
