Didn't like it but in fairness to the restaurant we arrived about 45 minutes before they closed so the food displayed may have... been picked over for the better part of the day. Not sure if I will return but I am still in search of authentic Jamaicancuisine. The search continues..... Read more
Not bad but not impressive either. Jerk chicken was a bit dry. Rice and peas, plantains and vegetable were good. Coco bread not... so much. A bit stale. Overall not a terrible meal. Read more
If I could have given this place zero Star, I would. I have been to this place 3 times. My 1st time I ordered the curry chicken... lunch special. After placing my order, and just before I received it this woman (am assuming the cook) brought my food out,looked at me in my face with a big scowl on her face, didn't greet me, just hand the cashier my food. Let's talk about the food,it did look yellow like the way Caribbean curry food looked, it tasted....i was hungry, said to myself, if I go back I wouldn'torder curry. On my 2nd visit earlier this year, I ordered the stew chicken, chicken was fired, hardly any sauce, the peas & ricewas ok, again the woman from the back came out with my food, again said nothing with a scowl on her face. 3rd time is a charmright? Nope, after looking at a video on YouTube, I decided to order a cowheal (even though I don't eat pork or beef, but thatsoup look so good, I wanted/needed to try it) soup, I asked that they don't heat up in microwave (I always do) since I do notused the microwave,. Again, lady came out the back you guess it face in a scowl..got home they sold me red beans soup with pork,I called several times, no one answered the phone. NEVER again, that cook is not cooking with love in her heart at all her foodsucks. I threw out that soup, didn't think taking it back was going to go my way...am DONE with that place....3 times....UGH???? Read more
The food was ok I?ve had worse but I have also had way better. The portion size was highly disappointing especially for the... price I paid for the two meals. The most upsetting part was the macaroni and so called cheese. I don?t even know how or what tosay about it. Who ever made the macaroni and cheese I hope the didn?t make it for thanksgiving as well. I don?t see myselfcoming back anytime soon. Sorry I forgot to take a picture of the macaroni and cheese before I throw it away. Read more
They have a restaurant side and then a whole other section dedicated to York Castle ice cream, which is based in Rockville MD,... and Italian ice! I haven't found many independent ice cream places around here so it was a welcome find. Read more
Sadly we ordered bbq jerk combo & stew and rice combo and instead we got dry chicken (no stew or seasoning) & the bbq jerk had... no bbq after I asked. We got no sides (no cornbread or plantain) after requesting both. I had decent hopes after reading theother reviews, must be fake. Sadly, will not be returning bad first experience. I love Jerk pit but wanted to try somethingcloser. Big mistake.. Read more
