I stopped by with my wife and kids to try out the food. We were greeted right away and seated. We ended up ordering steamed... dumplings and spring rolls for appetizers, and being a huge fan of beef fried rice but not seeing it on the menu I asked thewaitress if they had it, she said they could make it happen. After a short wait we received our food and to our delight thefood was superb; we complimented the waitress for the service and attention; would highly recommend this location. Read more
Love these spots around Chinatown that break the mold off west people traditionally think of as Chinese food. Great service,... great food, really clean and friendly environment. Will continue to come back! Read more
One the best claypot rice that I've had. The three preserved meats is a solid choice. The meats are very flavorful and good... will with the soy sauce that they provide. The steam egg and pickled cucumbers are also excellent. They are pretty quick atbringing the food out. Read more
Okay, so everyone and their mom basically saw Mikey’s review and flocked over to Yummy Rice to see what the noise was. I... landed on this assumption as this was where I was mentally, and tallying up the recent reviews with all the same consensus.Mikey sure knows what a good time is, and by good time I mean a food coma led on by a hot stone bowl of goodness. If you’veseen the review then you’re aware that Yummy Rice is a no frill, straight up mom and pop restaurant, off the strip in themiddle of the tiny land of “China Town”. The brand sign is as masked as the menu would reveal. How complicated can a meal beif everything is served in a bowl alone? Well, welcome to comfort Asian meals. And this is by far what nostalgia is for me. Iopted for the Chicken and Mushroom - ($13.00) - while hubby ordered the Beef and Rice - ($14) - I grew up with this dish, andthis bowl had all the elements that made this remarkably homey. The soy sauce was the right amount of seasoning to mix theflavors in super well, the chicken was marinated and came out silky and tender. Each bite had great balance, and I left superfulfilled. It was hubz' first time having a stone bowl meal and I couldn’t highlight how delightful the crispness of the ricewas. Pouring the soy sauce over the sizzling hot stone bowl really does make the meal so much more fun. Couldn’t go wrong withthe portion to rice ratio. The pickled veggies were a great bite cleanser, on the other hand we both didn’t like the eggcustard. It was bland and watery which made it unnecessary for us. Overall, good spot, great meal - Thanks Mikey for therecommendation! Read more
