Reviews for The Black Sheep in Las Vegas, NV
We had a lovely experience at Black Sheep Friday night. Our server was very friendly and took the time to go over the menu with... us since it was our 1st time there. We shared the salmon skin tacos and bao sliders for appetizers and they were excellent. Ihad the whole fried rainbow trout which I enjoyed, especially the sauce and rainbow swiss chard which complimented the fishperfectly. My husband had the pork jowl with tumeric noodles which he loved. For dessert we shared the chocolate tres lechescake with Vietnamese coffee whipped cream which was beyond good. Will definitely be back! Read more
This was a bucket list dining experience. Chef Tran's menu is just a perfect balance of flavors. We shared several small plates... and not once did we ever feel like the dishes were fighting against each other. The service was outstanding. We never wentwithout and it was obvious that our experience was important to them. Do not sleep on the Steak Tartare, even if you're not afan of it in general. Order it and experience it. Not one single miss on the menu. Read more
A wonderful dining experience. The wait staff was friendly and chef Jamie (who was on top chef) was kind enough to have a... conversation with us. The food too was incredible! Definitely worth a trip off the strip Read more
I cannot say enough good things about this place. It almost makes me wish there was a special rating we could provide like 5... star plus! We had a reservation, we showed up early assuming we would get drinks at the bar, but they were able to seat usearly, which was perfect. We had wanted an earlier reservation, but they were all booked. It's a small space so its alwaysgood to make a reservation at least a week in advance. Literally everything we got was amazing. With every bite there was suchan amazing variety/complexity of flavors. My husband said it a few times during our meal. From the appetizers to the desserts! We both missed lunch and were were celebrating our anniversary so we splurged. The Boa sliders was our favorite of the twoappetizers, but the Ceviche was still amazing!! For our entry I had the slow braised short rib which I loved. My husband hadthe Grilled Hanger Steak which he thought was fantastic, even down to the naan bread. Both were delicious, but we both likedour own dishes better, which is perfect! For dessert I don't remember the exact names, but I had the chocolate cake with a hardchocolate sheet on top with some kind of tres leches drizzle and vanilla and coffee mousse dollops on the side. The differencemousses almost made it taste lole a had two different desserts in one! Presentation was amazing, I'll post the video if it let'sme... and it was delicious! My husband got a creme puff thing with their house made cinnamon (something) ice cream alsofantastic, but I think mine was better. ???? Oh and if outstanding food wasn't enough the cocktails were also wonderful. I hadthe corpse reviver 2, my husband had a side car, and we ended with the bartenders recommendation of a carajillo. Simple yetdelicious! Highly recommend this place. It is pricier when you get as much to eat and drink as we did, I still highlyrecommend it! I would also recommend getting a sitter if you have a little one (not required just a suggest Read more
This place was elegant and intimate. Chef and owner Jamie Tran was present and nice enough to speak to her guest; she was even... taking pictures with some of her guest. We ordered three apps, two entrées, and one dessert. The restaurant stays open till10pm but the kitchen did close an hour prior to that at 9pm. We called and made a reservation for 9:15. I’m pretty sure chefJamie was the one who answered the phone because she let us arrive after the kitchen closed and still get the full experience.Would highly recommend this gem of a restaurant. I would have given 4.5 stars but no option for that. Everything was amazing. We ordered the salmon skin tacos, roasted beet... salad, grilled Spanish octopus, fried rainbow trout & Vietnamese tres Leches. The only minus was the octopus was a tad bittough. Favorites were the beet salad and fried rainbow trout. Read more
Beautiful! Perfect for a dinner with a goal of trying something new. It’s a small menu so picky eaters check first, or be... brave! Our table ordered 3 appetizers (pear salad was the unanimous favorite) and Duck, Short ribs, and Ribeye for entrees totaste/share. Everything was cooked to perfection! The curry couscous with the duck was to die for (very authentic tasting) andthe short ribs were fall off the bone soft - this was my favorite of the 3 entrees, and it wasn’t even the one I ordered. Willreturn - very curious to see if the menu changes seasonally or not! Read more
After scouring the internet for a Bravo restaurant to visit while in Las Vegas, we landed at the Black Sheep. By far one of the... most delicious meals we've enjoyed in a long time! Appetizers: poached pear salad, bao bun sliders Entrees: hanger steak, glassnoodles Both appetizers were amazing and would highly recommend. The poached pear salad had an excellent presentation whichthe staff cut at the table. The corn puree on the hanger steak, hands down the best part of my meal! The steak was cooked toperfection! Zero complaints from my partner on the glass noodles. Only con is this place is pretty far off the strip if you'reonly in town for a short time! Read more
