Went on Thursday evening for our first time - unfortunately probably our last time also. * Server was very nice, and (when she... actually CAME to our table) was super quick with helping us out. Unfortunately in the almost hour we were there, she came overtwice, not counting the delivery of foods. They were not busy either - she visited OTHER tables often, she just skipped us onmost passes :( Not sure if it was because they were actually flagging her down, or what. * TV was *SUPER* loud. Like "If youwant to talk to someone, you need to start yelling" loud. They did eventually turn it down, but oi. It was bad for the first10-15 minutes. * The nigiri was very good. We didn't have a LOT, but what we did have was tasty, and well made. Nothing tastedold, or 'out of sorts'. The Yuzu Yellowtail was amazing. * Shrimp tempura ... I think was serious frozen. The batter was not'normal' tempura. It looked like stuff you get from the grocery store boxes. Then we got to the rolls. Whenever we go to a newsushi place, we always try to order half rolls only, just to get a feel for how they're made, how big they are, etc .... Wasimmediately informed they don't do half rolls. Midly disappointing, but not going to put them on blast over it or anything likethat. So we started with only a couple of rolls ... and SUPER glad that we did. I'm not sure if this was maybe newer chef? Ormaybe because it WAS a mid-week trip they didn't have their best on the line? I don't know .. The amount of rice used was justcrazy. I'm not a super picky person, but there was probably 2-3x the amount of rice than any other sushi place I've ever beento. The pieces were cut so unevenly that we'd have 1/5th of the roll as one piece - literally. One piece would leave Tiny Timasking for more, while the next piece would feed an entire army. Honest review cuz some of these reviews can be screwed?. The server and staff seem cool? but I go to these places for the food?... and sushi is ?my go to? food. This was not good? I?m not going to put it on the freshness but it was pretty bad?. I know I?m inthe desert but still quality control?. The sushi rice was rancid tasting and overly covered the food .. the Korean bbq toppingwas not even legit? for the price ?. I get it sushi is high cost food item industry wide but the price does not match the food. Keep in mind I ordered ala carte aka individually and not the all you can eat menu? I've been here several times and each time the food has been spot on! The sushi is fresh and and made to order. The servers are... friendly and attentive. It is also reasonably priced, and all you can eat if you dine in. It's a hidden gem but surely worth thefind! Read more
Ambiance is good, typical sushi spot. Price, like most sushi places in Vegas. They lost me on the quality of their sushi. Bits... of fish with TONS of "crab". Roll after roll came out like that. Pretty good sushi. Service was medicore at best. During lunch there was no wait to sit but the rolls still came out slow. I'd... suggest that you order all the rolls you want out the gate. And for parties of five or more they hit you with an 18% gratuitywhile most places are 6 or 8 people. Read more
I have been here twice now and will be returning. The staff is very friendly and price is right for my budget. They have the... best $5 rolls. Fresh taste and great quality. The price is perfect for my family of 6. They have a very modern look inside. Ifyou haven't been to Sushi Ro yet you are missing out on some great food.
