Make sure to make reservations. Saw people who didn’t and got turned away. Service could have been better. Bring a sweater, AC... is on high. We had a hard time understanding what our server was saying. Suggest the bring the omakase menu list with theregular and drink menu instead of us having to ask for it. Noticed other tables had to ask too. It just causes more wait timewhich we had a lot of when we sat down. They have a chalkboard with specials but when you can’t understand what the server issaying, it doesn’t help and the board doesn’t have enough written to get what those were or the prices. Maybe a specialprinted specials paper would be easier for all. They have a really nice spices and sauces tray. I loved the green tea salt.Forgot the take a photo of the omakase menu. They have 2. $120 and $150. It was nice that they are flexible to let us getdifferent ones. I ordered the $120 because I wanted foie gras. Husband got $150 with king crab but there was an * that they cansubstitute and they did and he got snow crab. It would be nice if they told us when we ordered that it was substituted. The snowcrab was really good though. I had some of it. But maybe the king crab would have been even better. The only things we didn’tcare for was the fried fish and the burrata cheese. Sashimi plate was soo good, melts in your mouth. The pork cheek was one ofmy favorites. Mine didn’t have truffle but I dipped it in his sauce and I got to have truffle too. He doesn’t like the fattypork. But I loved it. Green tea crème brûlée was really good too. Overall I enjoyed our food and would come back. Maybeorder only what we like next time. Read more
Wonderful waitress and wonderful food! Freshness and prices that really can’t be beat. Came back after 4 years and was equally... impressed by the fresh tofu! The green tea salt on the table adds so much flare to the dishes. Read more
I had several omakase places in mind. Even with pre-booking a month out, they were all full. So book earlier. However, at Raku,... it’s not a set block of time for omakase. You can have it anytime during your dining experience. This place is small soreservations highly recommended. We did the premium course ($120) vice deluxe ($150). Raku is robat’a style which is grillingover hot charcoal. We really enjoyed half grilled meats/vegetables and seafood. 1)House made tofu was like a texture of freshricotta. We were advised to eat half with their special soy sauce and the other half with sprinkled Japanese green seasalt. 2)Bluefin tuna w caviar egg yolk- took it as a shooter. Kampachi amberjack then I think it was striped bass. 3)Porkcheek skewer 4)A5 wagyu skewer 5)Asparagus coated in Japanese rice cracker then prawn then Kobe beef 6)Lightly fried fish ofthe day 7)Enoki wrapped in bacon skewers 8)Foie gras bowl - the weakest dish. Disappointed because I love foie gras and thiswas a grilled thick cut but it just wasn’t as creamy and fatty as it should be. 9)Then we were given complimentary roastedgreen tea and palate cleanser. 10)Green tea crème brûlée w green tea ice cream. Save the best for last! We enjoyed theskewers over the seafood. I think because it wasn’t a blocked time and we couldn’t see them make it. We sat at the bar andsaw other dishes being made but it was a complete eye sore with piles of empty clean dishes on the counter in front of us! Sinceanyone can order omakase, it was being made in the kitchen so it took away from the experience as it was being made in massproduction. If we come back, I would only order the skewers a la carte. Rating this place 3.5, rounding down to 3. Read more
A birthday dinner for the books! We tried the deluxe omakase last time to figure out what items we liked the best! You'll never... go wrong with anything on the skewers/grill, but don't sleep on the Agedashi tofu made in house! Superb, along with greatservice makes this OPEN LATE night spot the perfect splurge while in town! Read more

This is the best Yakitori place I had in the US so far. 1. The price is very fair for the quality of the food. We spent a bit... more because we ordered alcohol. But food is very reasonable. 2. Service is great. We ask for a separate room and they just letus reserve it. 3. Every dish is amazing. Salmon is crisp on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. Wagyu melts in yourmouth. Uni is soft and does not stink, tofu is perfect etc. Read more
