Reviews for Lamaii in Las Vegas, NV
This place is definitely not your average Thai restaurant and fancier than most. The design and layout is very impressive. We... ordered a few dishes and all were very flavorful. The only blemish was the sticky rice we ordered was very hard and we wouldhave preferred the duck curry to be served in a bowl, not a flatter dish. Was not very busy on a Wednesday am and reservationsare highly recommended. Read more
Our friends raved about this place so we finally went on a Sunday. First, the service is slow and not great. The waiter insisted... on taking our order but not writing down. That's usually a recipe for a mixup and that's exactly what happened. Then he arguedwith me about what I actually ordered - which started things out on a down note. The menu is 1 page. That's it. So don't goexpecting the many Thai foods you get at most restaurants. The atmosphere is actually nice. The food is expensive and theportions can be small but what we ate was really, really good. I don't like giving average reviews. I try to keep them to myselfand only call out the really great places or the absolutely awful ones. In this case I can definitely praise the taste andquality of the food. But if people have been hyping a place it ought to live up the the hype. Would I come again? Probably. Butthere are a lot of Thai places in Vegas. Tip: yes the Panang crispy duck that everyone writes about is delicious but the Kao Soiis the best I have had in the US. Read more
Absolutely delicious! My husband and I spent some time in Thailand and fell in love with the cuisine. This is the only place in... the states we have found that not only tasted totally authentic, but tasted absolutely amazing. No complaints whatsoever.Absolutely recommend and I will be coming back every time I'm in town. Read more
The interior is beautiful and elegant with dim lighting. The food is insanely delicious! For our entrees, we ordered the salmon... dish and the lobster noodle dish (I forgot the names oops). I also ordered the flower in the garden cocktail, and it was theperfect balance-not too sweet or too strong. The reason for only 4 stars is due to lackluster service. When we arrived for ourreservation, no one was around for like 5 minutes, and it took awhile to flag someone down to get the check and leave. Otherthan that, I’d recommend to try this place at least once! Read more
I am from Virginia. First time eating here with my wife. With tip we paid a total of $92. It's rather pricey. Overall the... experience was unique and special. The ambiance is calming. Very beautiful atmosphere inside. It has that fancy feeling. Weordered the following: - Thai ice tea (it was amazing!) $5 - Chicken pad see ew (it was tasty) $15 - Stir fried crispy catfish(I ordered mild and it was extremely spicy. I normally can tolerate heat but it was too much. I asked them to add coconut milksimilar to panang curry and they honored it.) $17 - Raw oysters (it was a bit off, unfortunately it didn't have chili lime butonly fried shallots) $22 - Mango sticky rice (it was amazing!) $15 - Steam rice (kinda sucks that they charged for rice)$2.50 + 8.4% for tax, total was $84 + $12 tip = $92. Food was AMAZING! We went the day before Valentine's day ( super bowl Sunday) and it was nice and quiet. Service was attentive... and nice. Crispy duck panang was sooo good, so was the eggplant dish. Thai tapas does fit the dining experience here. Wheneverwe are back in Vegas there will definitely be a stop here. Thank you! Read more
Lamaii is very good. There's no other apt description. The ambience is elegant making you feel as though you entered a fine... dining room, especially when greeted by their wine rack at the entrance. Each dish is well balanced and full of flavor. Mychoice goes to the pad Thai which was a great fusion of ingredients. Skip the cocktails and stick to the food because it's byfar their best feature. This is a perfect Asian meal date spot. Read more
Hands down the best Thai Food I’ve had, simply delicious food. Every dish was made with high quality ingredients and was... simply delicious. Coming from someone that loves Thai Food this place dethrone my all time favorite Thai Food spot in RenoNevada by far and I will definitely be coming back. Fully recommend it to anyone wanting to try authentic Thai Food. Irecommend requesting extra Penang sauce if you order the Panang prawns or crispy duck, to pour over the rice. Also the crispyprawns don’t need all of the extra tempura batter however it’s still absolutely delicious ???? Pork belly was everything!! Read more
