Great subs for the price! I tried the 6 inch chicken bomb and the 6 inch pastrami bomb during their Friday promotion: all 6 inch... subs are only $5 if you belong to their sub club. The subs were great and full of meat...much better than Subway! I'll be backto try more. Read more
Meh. I had heard mixed reviews about this place . I was in the area, so I figured I'd give it a try. The staffer, just... naturally assumed that I should know what to order but didn't offer any guidance as to what was good or popular. So I figuredI'd try a safe bet, mushroom steak. I asked what came on the sandwich, guy said steak and mushrooms. Ok What I got, wasexactly that, some steak, a few mushrooms and 1 slice of cheese, cut in half, some mayo - which I wasn't expecting. Whilethe bread was super soft, that was really the highlight of the sandwich. The portion of steak, was underwhelming and seemed abit tough. The quantity of mushrooms was negligible and the cheese was just set on the bread, not cooked into the meat, likemost places do. Fries were good, hot but not salted or seasoned. The drink, I ordered small, which is what I got, small. Somy gripe is, that against my better judgment, of going to my goto sandwich place, which I would have received a 12inch loadedmushroom cheesesteak sub, chips and a 20oz drink, I received a mediocre 6inch sandwich, decent fries and a small drink 3 stars, probably not. 2 1/2 more likely Was it terrible? Stopped here on the way back from a 14mile hike to my Charleston. Been wanting to try it and glad we did. Good service, fresh... made food and ingredients and far better than any chain. They also do burgers. We got the steak sandwich and Cuban. Both weregreat, Cuban even better. Go support this spot! Read more
When I realized I couldn't get a Bachi burger, irritating because the place has been "temporarily closed " for longer than that... phrase implies; I came across Jon Smith Subs, the local chain I grew up with in FL! I had a taste of home and they COOKED myItalian Steak, extra onions, extra cheese, light on the marinara, they way I've always eaten it. Both days! The fries are cookedto order so they are hot. Love hot fries. Bread is soft. I had no friggin' complaints. And because it was SO unexpected ittasted even more delicious. Steak is sliced thin with the veggies, well proportioned with plenty of meat. They've been open ayear, still smells new, dining area nice and clean. As in FL, your food is brought to you at your table. Customer service wasgood, employees pleasant. They suffered me and my excitement about Jon Smith. The only save for me was the service. The steak bomb is exactly the name. It bombs. More like chopped hamburger with a burnt... bacon strip with 3 shrooms and sliver of pepper. Wife couldn't finish. Son wouldn't eat hers. Thank God the place had hot sauceso I could finish because of hunger. Impossible to mess up fries but nothing extraordinary or different about those. The delimeat for my sons sandwich was acceptable. But I'm not sure I'll be back since I did ask for the best seller and I recieved thatall for the steep price of 28bucks. Look y'all this place was AMAZING!!! This was my first visit but certainly not my last. Fast prompt service, very polite staff.... The atmosphere was a whole vibe and I LOVED the musical selection being played. The food was hot and fresh. Not to mention thecoupon on Groupon was $12.80 for $20 worth of food!! I got the 12in Steak Bomb no mayo and large fries and drink to get it closeto the $20. That was $18.45 so I got chips to get it to the $20 mark. $1.25 out of pocket. It was all worth it.
