It was nice to eat at this restaurant last week to celebrate my aunt's birthday and I cannot tell you the service we got was... amazing our server sorry that I couldn't remember your name but a very sweet Mexican man who gave us a great experience at thisrestaurant took his time to take our order explained everything to me and not only that surprisingly came out with the candleand a cheesecake from my aunt so we could celebrate her birthday. Very disappointed with the mediocre food we had. First, the table had sauce hardened onto it, and had not been cleaned but was... set with small plates and utensils in napkins. The caprese tasted like thick slabs of hothouse tomatoes, with equally thick andhard slabs of mozzarella on top. There was no balsamic to be found. The other food was ok at best. Service was poor andinattentive. Nobody came by to check on things or ask if we wanted more wine. We will not return. We totally enjoyed the oldGrotto, when it was overlooking the pool and shark tank. The website is misleading, as it has relocated within the Nugget andno longer faces that area. Read more
Large wedding party went for early dinner at Grotto Ristorante. Even with reservations, it took a bit to be seated and get our... food order in. To be fair, it was a Saturday and restaurant was busy. Loved the old Grotto, but this place is not a shadow of its former self. Don't be fooled by online menus. They only feature... very limited, very very limited menu items. Believe me it's not worth the $20 parking fee to have the pleasure of spending yourmoney here. If you are a fan of the original Grotto like me, avoid this place at all cost. Read more
The seafood was delicious! So fun to sit by their large fish tank and watch the exotic fish go by as we ate. Our friend is in a... scooter. They were so lovely. They let her drive it right to the table, they took it away when we ate then brought it back atthe end. Thankful for their thoughtfulness. Read more
**updated 2/24/2020 The restaurant has been moved. It’s much smaller but the quality is still amazing. The only thing I have... to complain about is that we had a party of 14 and everyone had their food as was eating 10 minutes before one of the kids(under 8) in our party received their chicken tenders. Not sure how it takes you longer for that then 13 adult meals but ithappened. Other thing I would improve is having staff members (girl in a white coat with sleeve tattoos) should not reach acrosspeople eating to grab an empty plate in middle of dinner. Even with those minor hiccups I’m sure I’ll be back. It’s toogood not to!! ** Original impression: The lasagna is to die for!!! The coffee is great and the service is attentive. 3 1/2 Stars: Wanted pasta so we made reservations on a Saturday. The restaurant was busy but there were a few tables... open. Service was ok. We had to ask a few times for water. No one was actually walking around and filling glasses as needed.We had waved our server down. Food: Carbonara- There was a fried egg on it which I prefer a runny yolk to mix in the pasta. Inaddition I prefer pancetta which there were a few pieces but my dish was topped with bacon bits. Not the worse carbonara I'veever had and not the best either. Bolognese with Angel Hair pasta- this was delicious. Great balance of flavors. Restaurantwas nice and clean but would only return for the complimentary bread (because of the olive oil dipping sauce) and Bolognese. Read more
