Reviews for Belmont Golf Course in Langley, BC
It pains me to say that after golfing at this ABSOLUTELY beautiful course since shortly after it opened , I?ll not be returning.... a) they will not accept cash for anything ( absolutely absurd ), b) they will not put rakes ( or new sand) in the traps . Trapsare SUPPOSED to be a challenge , not a rough . Apparently it?s too much work for the grounds keepers to get off their machines . c ) we are still charged full rate of $91 ( with a pwr cart) but yet , we can?t get less that what would be expected for thecost . Such a shame that someone with the WCGC won?t oversee this and take control . All in all , the course need some work (not a lot) the staffing level and guest services ( policies) needs an urgent overhaul . These a protocols were put in placeCovid . It?s back to the norm everywhere else . Time to change . Read more
Played just recently at Belmont...course in great summer shape. Fairways dry and greens were in good shape when we played last... week. Had issues with waiting or slow play in the past, however saw course marshalls numerous times, active on the course, sothat was good to see. Beer cart is available on course, although food shack is perfectly located on the 10th. Hole. Clubhouseis air conditioned, so we stayed and had a beer after the round. Belmont is a good course to play, and we will be back. Read more
Probably won't be back. The fairways are pretty hit and miss, there's some giant holes and poor drainage on most of them. The... bunkers as some other reviewers have noted are hard as concrete. But most frustrating for me was this one course marshal thatkept giving us a hard time about pace of play. He approached us 5 or 6 times and kept giving us a hard time, including this oneprotracted lecture at the 10th hole about the people behind us. Another marshal had told us our pace was fine, but this one guyreally had it out for us. I've played with this foursome at a number of courses and never had this issue. Not sure what hisissue was but it really put a damper on the day. As icing on the cake the restaurant was closed after our round, looks like theyhave pretty limited hours. Read more
There were many areas where there was no grass at all on the fairways, just dirt. The greens are very hard and don?t accept good... shots. The bunkers are unplayable. Many of the walking paths are really for billy goats. The cart girl can be found sittingunder a tree talking to the Marshall. Not worth the price at all. One star for the views. Read more
If they maintained this course properly, it would be top tier in the lower mainland. As we played it in early August, half the... grass was dead and all but a few bunkers were hard as concrete. It made playing noticeably more difficult and unpleasant. Thatsaid, it is a pretty and challenging course. Read more
3.5 actually. My first round there since the mid-90's and it was quite enjoyable. The course has grown up nicely. Greens were... very nice - good speed and true. A few things I'd suggest: - some of the bunkers really need sand. I was only in 1 (#16) and Iwas basically hitting off clay. - some more fairway yardage markers would be helpful and good for pace of play. 200, 150 and 100aren't sufficient. - seems to me the course is perfect to set up a blue/white combo tee with its extremely long par 3's. -please reinstate the cart shuttle service to get players up the hills after 9 and 18. That is an extremely difficult walk and itwould help pace of play. Overall it was a good morning and if I lived a little closer I'd play it more often. I forgot tomention a safety issue. The staircase leading up to the long par 5 tee box desperately needs to be replaced and have handrailsadded. I found it incredibly dangerous, especially because it was wet. My personal advice would be to shut down that tee boxuntil you've built a new and much safer staircase. Read more
Really fun golf course with great staff and stunning views. Some long par 3's but some other holes that are gettable. Greens... were true and the fairways were great. Just wish the tee boxes were in better conditions, some were in really roughshape. Looking forward to playing there again. Read more
Belmont (Westcoast Golf) should be ashamed to charge $91 for golf and cart for this course. The fairways were bare in many... areas, some looked as though there had been some flooding. The bunkers that had sand in them had no rakes (not one rake in anybunker.) A number of bunkers have been let go to the point that they are now waste bunkers or "ground under repair." The snackshop had only hot dogs, no sandwiches. The patio and club restaurant is only open Friday through Sunday. All in all, a verydisappointing experience. Will not go back. Read more
