I’m sitting here at our table writing this review because I’m extremely shocked after getting our check. I came here once... for lunch and really loved the experience and my food, so I came back for dinner with my husband for a date night — whichhappens once in a blue moon now that we have a baby. Because of this I was really looking forward to dinner but it was a totallet down. The bartender did make me a really awesome mocktail and we loved our appetizer, so our experience to start was great. But when our entrees came out the mushrooms on my mushroom stroganoff weren’t cooked so I ate half of my husband’s short ribsandwich which was delicious. Our server checked on us once and didn’t even refill our water glasses when they were empty. Allin all I ate 2 bites of my meal because it wasn’t cooked right. It was also bland so I wouldn’t recommend it to anyoneanyway. The waitress did offer a complimentary dessert which was appreciated but at that point we were full and didn’t wantit. We usually don’t get dessert when we go out anyway. Well we got the check and the $27 entree that I didn’t eat was stillon our check!!!!!! I haven’t had many bad experiences at restaurants but I just thought the professional thing to do would beto remove the meal from the check. ***I only took a photo of our starter which was pretty good but it’s proof we wereactually there. I probably won’t be returning because of my experience. Read more

The perfect spot for dinner and drinks! I sat at the bar and enjoyed many of their craft cocktails (the Marion Street was my... favorite! I also enjoyed the Liberty Street and the 50 West Grant a TON). It was a busy Thursday night but sitting at the bar Imet some kind locals who love Lancaster and were on their way to see a show at the Fulton Theatre. My bartender Austin was sohelpful in deciding what to order and made the delicious cocktails. The Pumpkin Gazpacho and Roasted Beet Salad were a greatcombo. The vibe is classy but still casual and the art on the walls and the bar create a lovely ambiance. Read more

Took my husband for his Birthday. It was such a delightful place. We had the best service and if the weather stayed nice and... warm, we had a great window seat that would have stayed open. Too bad it got a little windy and chilly out because it was abeautiful day. We ordered their Tomato Crab Bisque, Caesar Salad and Roasted Beet Salad to start. Everything was great, myhusband would have liked a little more dressing on the Caesar, and a little more crab in the soup. The server told the chefand they put extra crab on our Brussels Sprouts which was an appetizer, but we ordered it as a side with dinner. Speaking ofdinner, their Crab Cakes are amazing. I didn't know you could get Crab Cakes that fluffy and light, but they were the bestcrab cakes I ever saw or ate. The salmon was good too, they put a nice glaze on it. Dessert and Cappuccino ended the nightperfectly. Great food, great service and great place! 8/13/22 Update: We went again tonight and this time was not sogreat. I guess they are inconsistent with their service and food. We sat at a hi-top table. Bad choice with thatreservation. What we got was really bad service from a bartender or barmaid that just should have stayed behind the barbecause she had no personality what so ever. We both wanted the crab cake as per my review above. They used to be amazing, but now they're terrible. They were burned on the surface and they were terribly heavy and not really edible. At a price forwhat they charge, they should have been made the exact same way as before. I reposted the picture of the crab cakes we got thelast time (see picture 9) and the burned ones we got today (picture 8). Look at the difference. We both didn't eat half ourdinner and walked out spending $140.00 only to be disappointed in what should have been a perfect dinner. We'll never goback!!! Read more

Atmosphere was fantastic , clean and open concept kitchen. Hostess seemed to be overwhelmed but it was a busy day. Waiter was... great and checked in just the right amount. Pizza had a great flavor but was slightly undercooked with a chewy taste but nodoubt good. Prices were right on point for area and quality. I would add this to your list of places to hit ! Read more

I made an early afternoon reservation with a request to sit outside not thinking I’d get to sit outside, but I did! Gorgeous... day for dinner, Michael the waiter was so so friendly and sweet and we had a chat about the French pastry chef for therestaurant. Had a lovely afternoon and definitely will come back! Everyone’s food was incredible. I really want the recipe for the dressing that was on my salad. I can’t stop thinking about... it. I live in SC, so it’s not like I can just pop back in, but I totally would. I highly recommend everything. The staff wasgreat too. I had the C’est La vie Salad and the salmon. I think it was a sweet corn vinaigrette. Read more

Does that look an $18 pizza to you? Or an appropriately made old fashioned (I get that it’s a French restaurant, but still). ... Besides these two hiccups, C’est Le Vie is a really nice restaurant with a tranquil atmosphere that is perfect for a datenight. Overall our meals were fresh and tasty, but for the price I do expect a little more than what I posted. Additionallythe wait was pretty long considering it was just two of us, I have a feeling this was a one off experience and am Still planningon trying again. Read more
