Took an off day drive out to Lambertville to do some sightseeing. I ended up stopping at this local pizzeria and was thoroughly... impressed. Nicolas has been around for over 50 years, which is always a good sign, and built inside what was once a colonialera tavern. The signature pizza of this area of NJ is the Trenton upside down tomato pie ( similar to a typical New York styleplain pie but with the sauce over the cheese), and their?s is excellent. The sauce was plump and naturally sweet , the ratio ofsauce to cheese was typical of this style, and the crust was thin and crunchy with little flop, just the way I like it. Equallyimpressive was their signature cheesesteak, the ?GasPipe?, made with a combination of I assume to be shaved ribeye, chicken,mushrooms, onions, garlic, spinach, eggs, and white American cheese on an Italian roll, DELISH. Hidden gem, I'm in here weekly. Not just the best pie in Lambertville but this place makes a better pie than most old school... places in NYC or Philly. Wings are delicious as well. When they have the fireplace going it's magical, you can thank me later. Read more
I loved this little pizzeria by the side of road. The owner was very nice and considerate. I enjoyed all the pizza variations... they had. I went there with my family, so we had tried almost all the slices they had, and I loved the plain pizza and thesausages one the most. Read more
Wow. Pleasant surprise! We stopped in for two slices when passing through. Plain slice and mushroom. Mushrooms were fresh, not... canned like other places. Really fantastic classic slice at a great price. And super friendly staff! Can?t wait try the otherofferings another time! Read more
No-frills neighborhood pizza joint. They?re very friendly people and they?ve been there forever. The sausage they use for their... pizza is the best I?ve ever had- Super flavorful. The only drawback is it?s kinda antiquated but it has charm. Definitelyrecommend the sausage and mushroom pizza! Read more
Always a pleasure. Grabbed one to go.. perfectly cooked.. I added my own bagnana peppers at home but as far as throwing the pie... back on the stone, it's a great pizza for that. I recommend everybody get a stone for their oven. You know, for reheating thetake homes.. Had a fun time at the bar while the pizza cooked.. "I was grocery shopping" if anybody aks..
