I love MacAllister's Fish & Chips! It comes with French fries and a small dab of Cole slaw. Everything tasted hot and fresh. And... everyone was friendly and made you feel welcome. The atmosphere in the dining room area was cool, quiet and enjoyable. Although,there was a main street event going on outside it was not overly busy within the restaurant, which was perfect for us. Very excellent food which is why the rating is so high. It's very hard to do little more than a beer hall and small.plates on... the foundation of Scottish cuisine. Since it isn't very palatable among Americans. Things like tripe,haggis and blood sausagewould distinguish the restaurant for its authenticity over having things like linguine on the menu which isn't really on pointwith the mission of this restaurant. This was our first time eating at Macallisters and both the service and food were amazing. My husband got the blackened fish... with spinach and I got the French Dip. It was later in the evening, close to closing time and never felt rushed to leave. Wewill definitely be back, thank you! Read more

I?ve never had bad food here and I?ve tried several different things. They do trick you by putting a bunch of lettuce at the... bottom of their appetizers to try to look like there is more food there than there is.
