We are a traveling College team. We called 24 hours plus in advance to let them know we were coming at x time with 30 athletes.... We show up at 7:45 pm they close at 10 pm. Chairs were already up on tables like they were closed. We proceed to order as theguy rudely yells out we are out of tortillas. We discuss and decide to order on the first order they were out of chips. This isa Mexican restaurant and they have no basics food. I watched a guy change a trash bag in a dirty bin and then stick his hands inthe shredded cheese without changing his gloves or washing hands. We are a $300 plus ticket and they did not want our business,we are here almost every weekend in Denver. I decided to walk out with my team. Five guys next door took care of us, clean, great attitudes? do not eat at Cafe Rio at least this location..? Read more

Honestly really wanted to try this place due to the videos I kept seeing on Pinterest but this place was not as expected it im... sure it is due to the lack of care or help received from the staff of whom were mostly all teenagers. They honestly could careless about actually working most of them were standing on their cell phones the entire time! Almost everything was empty hadvery little in the containers noone working seemed to care or tried stocking any of the food containers which looked old, I evenasked if If there was more guac in the back since the one that was out was old and had molded up already just to be told nothere was no more so I skipped on the guac which was dissappointing. I ordered two burritos which came to just some chage over44 dollars it was not the greatest experience for that price I think I would've enjoyed it had the teens been better trained andactually worked and were not rude and lazy the entire time . The pros: the horchata and hand-squeezed limeade were awesome - limeade even had real mint leaves in it! The cons: food was... disappointing. I had a fire-grilled chicken quesadilla and my partner had a pollo asado burrito and while we nearly finished ourmeals we were only doing so because we were so hungry from playing some sand volleyball in Golden. The bad: the cashier wasaudibly sick, e.g. sniffling, congested, etc. with cold symptoms. She even had a tissue she was actively using to wipe hernose!!! I hope the poor woman was not forced to attend work because of poor company policy. Won?t be returning. Read more

Great food, fast service, awesome people. I eat here regularly now, it has never disappointed. And the cashier Omar is always... smiling and reminding me to fill out the survey for free chips and salsa. Read more
