Pizza was good. We ordered the combo (meat lovers pizza) and a Hawaiian pizza. This us brick oven pizza so expect some burnt... crust here and there. We stayed at a nearby Airbnb so we ordered take out in person and the wait was prob 20+ minutes on aFriday night...not a horrible wait but would prob been a better idea to call ahead. We also ordered Buffalo wings..they weregood. They were probably cooked perfectly cause they were super juicy but I prefer mine to be cooked with more of a crisp. If you told me it was oven cooked frozen pizza I would have believed you. The pictures from other customers made me choose this... over other stuff places. Boy was I disappointed when I opened my box. The crust was more cardboard like then expected. It waspretty burnt as well. Toppings were nothing special. Nothing to write home about. The best thing about my pizza was the crust and fresh veggies. The sauce had no flavor. I should... have known when we walked in and didn't smell any food. Definitely a local favorite (you can tell by the influx of customers coming and going). The pizza is definitely delicious and... worth a trip! They also serve calzones and salads. When we arrived there was not a car in the parking lot. There was no one inside either. We ordered a large pizza and wings with... 2 drinks. It took several minutes to get our drinks and we had a few options for what we could drink because they were out ofeverything. Within 10 minutes others started arriving their orders were placed and it started getting busier. The table next tous, which had a party of 6 got their 2 large pizzas and wings right away. We waited another 10 minutes for our wings. The pizzatook several more minutes to come out. The table next to us was getting fabulous service drink refills ect. We got nothing.Until just before we were ready to leave and then my husband was asked if he wanted a refill. Would we go back, based on theservice no. It was terrible. I discovered the table next to us knew someone in the kitchen or worked there, that's why theirorder was pushed ahead. The food is good but after our first time experience and being treated in such a manner we won'treturn. Our drive from Clay Springs isn't worth it to us for that. Read more

This was our first time eating at Johnnie D's. We thought the pizza was great and would rate this a. Strong 4.5 stars. Pizza was... on point and the wings were meaty and hot. We were pleased to be able to try out Johnnie D's for pizza, wings, and fried goodies. While the pizza is better than your... average pizza place, it is not quite on par with the best. The flavors are light and tasty, but the crust is a bit thick andchewy to be true "brick oven pizza". The fried zuccini and calamari were both good with generous portions, but left a bit to bedesired in flavor and texture. The staff was attentive and understanding with a spill of water by our children. I'd recommendJohnnie D's if you're looking for reasonably priced pizza that's a step up from the usual. Read more
