Great atmosphere and decor. Brunch breakfast items were really good. Deserts looked beautiful but were dry with little flavor.... It was as if they had been sitting exposed in the refrigerator with no cover. We took a couple bites and then quitting eatingthem as they were so bad. We did mention this to the waitstaff and they could see that we barely touched them. They didapologize but this really should have been subtracted from our bill. For the last several years I have wanted to come to the Terrace Grille. I love historic places abd wanted to experience the high... end dining offered there. The experience itself was disappointing. While the architecture is beautiful the dining was not what Iexpected. The service was unbearably slow for a restaurant of this calaiber. When you are paying $50 a plate or more I expectthe staff to very attentive and food to leaveme craving to come back. The Southern Affair Snapper was presented beautifully,but the flavor was nothing to wow me. The Garlic appetizer was magnificent! When you get a bit with all the elements it justsings on your tounge! The down side is you only get 1 scallop so it really isn't an appetizer you can share and I had a party of2. In the end I am glad I went and had the experience, but I won't be going back. I've lived in Lakeland and the surrounding areas my whole life and have never eaten here until last night. Let me just say, I've... been missing out. The service was excellent by Hannah and the food was absolutely amazing. I've been to many big cityrestaurants that charge higher prices than this and can't deliver the same level of service or food. When staying at the Tapestry Hotel the Terrace Grille was the perfect place to enjoy my lunch each day. The dining room is... breath taking with regal fruniture and comfortable conversation areas. Each afternoon I was greeted and hosted with exceptionalservice. The menu did not disappoint. I was able to select from various healthy options that were all freshly prepared. Eachmeal was delicious and if given the opportunity to return to the Lakeland area I would stay at the Tapestry Hotel again...diningat the Terrace Grille each afternoon was a highlight! ????????????????? Great dinner and service. I had the elk chops and my husband had the short ribs. Both were delicious. The salads were great... as well. They do a nice twist on a Ceasar salad that should not be missed. Of course, I had to have the chocolate swan fordessert. So cute. Read more

Having enjoyed many special events such our move to Lakeland in 2007 when my husband and I retired from our careers and joined... our two adult sons and their families as new residents. From evening dining with friends and Christmas Eves beginning at theTerrace to stays of our friends and family who travel here to enjoy the beauty and culture of Lakeland we consider the Terraceas a must see. Today, we had decided to meet at the Terrace Grille with our two sons, their wives and four grandchildren tocelebrate a Thanksgiving Breakfast. While I was preparing an already beautiful table for ten guests, Alexis, the Maitre’d andwaitress assisted me with the favors I had brought. As we waited for our guests to arrive, we enjoyed having a coffee serviceprovided by Alexis in the lovely Lake Mirror Room; we could not take our eyes off of the beautiful restorations of the newTerrace Tapestry. It is truly a major site!! Alexis was as poised and confident in working with a group of guests, and thehospitality could not be matched. As the breakfast plates came to our table, there was such a variety of orders, and they wereall delicious. Attention was given to every detail. The dinnerware and table decor were so in keeping with the decor throughoutthe hotel. And in contrast to the former dinnerware which did not keep a cup of coffee hot, the coffee was hot and maintainedthe temperature throughout the meal. An invitation to meet the Chef was the perfect ending to our 2-hour breakfast, and withhis invitation to tour the entire hotel, we could not have expected anything more—until Alexis appeared with a preciousTerrace Hotel stuffed animal swan.
