First time at Charley's stand-alone location in North Lakeland FL Plenty of seats. Simple menu. Mostly clean-ish in the dining... area but could have been better. The cheesesteak was the star! I had a regular Old School Combo with Hot Pepper Relish, plainfries, and a medium fountain beverage. The Old School cheesesteak has extra steak, sauteed onions, and Cheese Whiz sauce. Reallytasty. Life keeps me pretty busy but this is my 3rd time here and the new owner now is awesome and waits on you at the register... himself! The last time I came here, he had just taken over, and offered me a complimentary lemonade and it was amazing! Idon't get many free things in this life so that was awesome and it was a very warm day. I was here twice this past week, both times I had an excellent experience! The strawberry lemonade is super delicious and... refreshing! The bacon cheese fries were great. We also tried the mozzarella sticks on our second visit. Those were top notch aswell. We will definitely be stopping in here again! Service was above and beyond excellent! Have always loved there food but the new Fiesta cheesesteak is one to stay away from. A good sandwich needs good bread, right... fixings and right amout of moisture. This sandwich has no moisture. The restaurant overall is pretty good. Read more
Mediocre cheese steaks. The classic cheesesteak with beef was lacking in grilled flavor and somewhat dry; where's the juice?! ... The chicken version was flavorful but even more dry. The fries were average and somewhat bland like the food in general. MyCoke had an odd flavor and was overly sweet. Far down the list of good cheesesteaks and pricy. Read more
