Spent over 70$ on food that was disappointing. The baked potato was not cooked all the way, it was very hard to bite into,... ordered the pork wedges, and got pulled pork, the Mac and cheese needed more salt for flavor. We ordered takeout on Grubhub, and we were very disappointed with what we received. We got two 2-meat plates (so four meats and... four sides total) and large parts of our order were incorrect. I ordered pork burnt ends & brisket burnt ends for my meats, andI received chopped brisket and some kind of shredded turkey. They also sent us the wrong type of sauces, and my husband?s platehad the wrong kind of brisket. We added on a King?s Hawaiian roll (which was an up charge) and didn?t receive it. The brisketwas very dry, and the texture and flavor were more like overcooked pot roast. The sides we ordered were all correct, but notgreat; the green beans ?with onions and bacon? had no onions or bacon that we could see and had a super weird flavor. The macand cheese and potato casserole were okay. The best things about the meal were the crispy fried onions; those were actually verytasty! Inconsistent. Beginning of the month we ordered the same exact order with sliced brisket, it was amazing. Today, not so much.... Not tender. Smaller portion. Feels like a different cut.. It's great that the fat is removed from the brisket but it's alsoremoving the moisture. But as I said, month ago, same cut, no fat, but was tender..... A mile down is Bad Brads. They've way toomuch fat, once the slice was nothing but.. For a lean meal, we prefer little to no fat.. Anyhow, had the same problem beforemany times. We live next to this place, 3 years. This inconsistency is the only reason we've not frequented this place. Whenit's good, it's delicious.. Sides are consistent at least.. Hope they improve. Thanks! Read more
While nothing was bad it was also not good. The Mac and cheese is very bland, the slaw needs salt and vinegar, the rolls are... oddly sweet, Beans taste like buschs canned beans, the potatoes are fine and the poultry(chicken and turkey) tastes the same andneeds salt. The ribs are pretty good and I think the brisket is tender and flavorful? over all its not bad at all but a littleexpensive for what it is. Read more
Food is okay, nothing special, but it's not bad either. The ribs had no smoke flavor, and the seasoning was good, but the meat... tasted like it was seasoned immediately before cooking. The tenderness was perfect though, moist but not wet, meat held on thebone but peeled off easily with every bite. Sides we're okay as well. Beans were bland, ended up pouring sauce into them to getsome flavor. Slaw was boring but crunchy. Again, texture was really good but the flavor was lacking. Overall, I think it's agood place for a quick lunch stop, but not if you're looking for good BBQ. Read more
DO NOT ORDER. Amount of food is beyond pathetic, 2 bones of ribs and 1/2 slice of sausage for $20, is a JOKE. To go order... arrived with absolutely no bbq sauce, no silverware, no napkins. Called manager Amber and was told it was corporate thatdictates portion size and their mistake for no bbq sauce, silverware and napkins and no resolution. We've been fairly frequent or loyal customers of this location since it opened, about 2 to 3 years ago. The food has always been... excellent, a great value for the price! The service has always been pretty good, especially when the dark haired, middle agedfemale is working but most of other employees seem to have come & gone. There's a young, teenage fellow who has been therealmost a year (not sure of his name either but, he's almost always wearing a U of M ball cap) and has close to above-averageCustomer Service skills...unlike this newer, younger blonde haired girl w/glasses, as she acted like we were somehow"interfering" with her side duties?! The potato salad was potatoes were barley cooked. The portions were small. The next time I will drive to Troy, Mi to Missions... Barbecue the food is 100% better. Read more
